Caption: This is Dr. Sadie, what's your question, caller? Where do you think I should invest my tax refund? That's a great question. In my day, most people would've opted to put the funds into your standard Serta, or even a newfangled Posturepedic. Those people were morons. The more forward-thinking investor knew she'd run less of a risk of bed bugs eating her fortune if she went with a La-Z-Boy. Um ... ok, ... thanks.

Caption: Boss … instead of sending me a tax refund, the IRS sent me a letter saying I owe them $9,000. Do you know anything about that? Nope. In a totally unrelated matter, did you know that businesses have to pay half the social security and Medicare taxes for their employees? And did you know that if a business re-categorizes workers as "independent contractors," then those workers aren't technically employees and become responsible for paying all their own taxes? Very. Bad. Man. I gave you your independence. I'm like Lincoln. You should thank me.

Image Number: 125207
Caption: A $15,000 refund seems like too much. I could dial back the mortgage interest deduction. Hayden, I don't have a mortgage. But are you interested in a mortgage? I'm interested in not going to jail. I'm going to go back and click "renter."

Comic/Cartoon: Frank and Ernest
Viewable Date: 2015-03-29 Pub. Date: 2015-03-29

Caption: Monster Tax Service. Tax season is in full swing now. It looks like the zombies had the same income as prior years but King Kong had a big increase. Kong is climbing the corporate ladder while the zombies are stuck in dead-end jobs. The werewolf had some extra income -- must have been moonlighting. The Hulk is taking some credits for going green, and Frankenstein's monster has a big medical expense deduction because of all his surgery. As usual, the Invisible Man has the cleanest return. He keeps detailed, accurate records and declares every penny of income. He's always been completely transparent.

Image Number: 121765
Caption: CPA. It looks like some of our clients might have tax problems this year. Halley's Comet files a return only once every 75 years. And the black hole seems to be hiding lots of income. Neither Pluto nor Mars can pay what they owe. Pluto's assets are frozen. And Mars isn't called the "Red Planet" for no reason. I think earth might be the only one getting a refund. Of course, it has billions of dependents!

Caption: Some of you may have been expecting this week's comic strip to be about Don and Carol working feverishly on their taxes. Believe it or not, they finished their return and sent it off last week. The good news is they'll be getting a nice little refund this year. Now it's up to Don to convince Carol that it's time for a long overdue vacation. LONDON. They both have been wanting to visit Europe. Perhaps this will be the year. So apparently soggy floor joists aren't strong enough to keep the bathtub our of the basement.

Caption: Be prepared, grandpa. As a Presidential contender, your tax refunds are going to be scrutinized by everyone. Orville Edison 2012. "More of the same rhetoric." Taxes. Tax. But … Last year I listed a pair of orthopedic shoes I bought as a medical deduction. So? Taxes. I LIED! What I really bought was a box of Twinkies! Shoot! Our campaign is doomed, isn't it? Not unless you Tweeted it. Double shoot! Tax.

Caption: Maybe a different tax preparer would have found you a refund. I went to H&R Block. Really? I went there ages ago and had a guy who was named after his mom's favorite comic strip character. I remember he was very, very sensitive about it. Charlie Brown? No, no ... Cathy.

Caption: Hey, mom, are you fed up waiting for your tax refund to arrive? Edison's low-cost tax refund loan service can offer you up to 500 dollars until your refund arrives. YOU? HA?! Where are you going to get that kind of money? Dad, can I borrow 500 dollars?

Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Candorville
Viewable Date: 2011-04-06 Pub. Date: 2011-04-06
Image Number: 59398
Caption: Look at the bright side … you barely make any money at all. How's that the bright side? Well that means you'll be getting a tax refund. A tax refund is an insult. It's like my money is a little scrawny fish and the government scoffs at it and tosses it back into the lake. I wish I earned enough for the government to really screw me over. Dios mio.
