Caption: I procrastinated and need to work on my taxes today. They're due this week. Doing your taxes is like playing golf. The rules for both are very complex. With taxes and golf I incur huge penalties for going out of bounds. And sometimes it seems like everybody else is cheating. Well, it looks like I owe thousands! I never get to take any deductions in golf or taxes. The final number in both is huge and somehow it all seems unfair!

Caption: Boss, what do you mean you're "preparing for the widening of the gap between rich and poor"? Congress is about to force every poor person who wants to claim the earned income credit to endure an IRS audit first. The working poor can't afford lawyers, and they're too busy cobbling together a living from multiple jobs and gigs to do all the paperwork, so ... ipso facto ... I'm not exactly sure how, but I have faith that the money they'll be too scared to claim is going to end up in my pocket. He's devout very-bad-mannist.

Caption: Hello, you've reached Sisyphus Mortgage. This is Ryan. How may I hinder you? I just got an ad saying you specialize in loans for self-employed people. I'm self-employed. I've taken all the tax deductions the law allows, so my income appears to be much smaller than it actually is. Is there any type of loan I'd qualify for? Of course. If you've got 24 months of bank statements that show you can easily afford the monthly payments, you may qualify for a "bank statement loan." I could get you bank statements. Great! ... Oh, one more thing, we also need to see receipts proving that your expenses match your bank accounts. You do? ... O ... K ... I'll see if I can dig those up. Great! ... Oh, one more thing, we'll also need to see your business license. Ryan, how many "one more things" are there? Before I can answer that, I just need one more thing ...

Caption: Good game, Big L. You only put it in the wrong basket once. I was preoccupied, Clyde. Taxes are due. If I take too many deductions, my income'll look tiny and I won't qualify for a mortgage. I see, bruh. When we was kids, your excuse was "the sun was in my eyes." Also, I saw an unfamiliar mole and wondered if it was malignant.

Caption: Tax Preparer. I'm working on my client's tax returns. Mars, being the "red planet," is claiming a business operating loss. Jupiter, with all those moons, takes deductions for almost 70 dependents. And earth has no new nations this year ... so no "capitol gains" to declare. Did Mercury lower his taxes? Yeah, he's eligible for a huge solar energy tax credit!

Caption: I've decided it's time for me to start dating again. Again? I've known you for twelve years, and I've never seen you date. I've been focused on work to the exclusion of all else. I have no hobbies, no friends, no interests at all that are unrelated to by business. Lately that's started to take a toll on me, Rudy. I've become sullen. Depressed. Lonely. Bitter. Morose. My customers have begun to notice, and I worry my bad mood will drive them away. So ... you want to focus less on business because being all business is bad for business. Also, true love is eventually tax deductible.

Caption: Boss, I've got a new idea. And it will totally empower on-demand collaboration and idea-sharing. Not again. It'll synergistically maintain error-free catalysts for change, while progressively meshing stand-alone methods of reconceptualization. Look, I've already told you. You're not getting a raise, not matter how much business jargon you use. But an extra $2 an hour would dramatically generate error-free opportunities for a tax deduction. No means no.

Caption: Monster Tax Service. Tax season is in full swing now. It looks like the zombies had the same income as prior years but King Kong had a big increase. Kong is climbing the corporate ladder while the zombies are stuck in dead-end jobs. The werewolf had some extra income -- must have been moonlighting. The Hulk is taking some credits for going green, and Frankenstein's monster has a big medical expense deduction because of all his surgery. As usual, the Invisible Man has the cleanest return. He keeps detailed, accurate records and declares every penny of income. He's always been completely transparent.

I made sure all my self-deployment inductions are legal in case I get edited by the eternal revenue service. I'm e-smiling right now! I'll bet you're the only one doing that! With my return done, I have time to upbloat more photos to my Facecrook page. I'm totally connected to the social nutworks these days! You always have been, M-man!

Caption: Dr. Noodle. I earn as much as my brother, and he just bought a house. So I tried to buy one too only to find out I can't, because I'm self-employed. And lenders now won't give a mortgage because all my legitimate business deductions make it look like my income is a lot smaller than it really is. So I have two choices. Give up my business and get a full-time job, or stop taking deductions and owe the IRS $20 grand. Hmmm ... I see. Or I can get a cosigner. Well, it appears our time is up. It's only been two minutes. Speaking of which, how's your credit score?

Caption: It's the end of tax season under the microscope. It looks like dependent deductions were takes for the parasites. The genes paid inheritance tax, spinal fluid owed back taxes, and brain cells took an education credit. Did everybody down there have to rush to the post office to beat the deadline? Post office. IRS. 1040. Everybody except the neurons ... they e-filed!
