Caption: I'm tired of working, Randy. One of my ancestors put it best. It was the early days of the Roman Republic. Randius Taylorus Maximus was a soldier in the Roman phalanx. That bored him to death. All the clumsy formations, all the cumbersome gear, all the losing ... so he deserted and joined up with the Spartans. That's where he stopped working for a living, and got to do what he loved. He got to oil up and go into battle half-naked, with nothing but his shield, his sword and his loincloth. Years later, he adventured across the world on the back of Tito, the last living woolly mammoth. That's when he met Buddha, who took credit for Randius' motto: Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life. I just meant I felt like taking a nap.

When we were kids, the really old folks we knew were World War I veterans. Now, the really old folks out there are World War II and Korean War veterans. Vietnam vets are getting pretty gray, too. Kinda makes you think, right? It make me think we fight too many @#$% wars.

Caption: A 94-year-old World War II veteran visits Lemont's dream. This reminds me of the platform I stood on in 1941, waiting for the train to boot camp. A few white men surrounded me and said "sing a song for us." Uh-oh … What'd you say? I said "I don’t sing." Then they said "Well, dance for us." Do you know what I said? What'd you say, sir? "I don't dance." I tell you this not to complain ... But to tell you you draw lines in life. And you don't cross them. I don't draw.

Caption: A secret prison in Iran. So, what exactly do you Basij members do? We are proud sons of the Revolution of '79! When Iraq invaded our homeland and all seemed lost, we volunteered to walk arm in arm through its minefields to clear the way for our soldiers, we are noble protectors of our people. That was like 20 years ago. What about lately? We murder our own people, make sure their skirts aren't too short, make sure guys don't show too much chest hair... Equally noble. Only fools underestimate the danger of chest hair.

Caption: Britain in India. France in Algeria. USSR in Europe… Modern history tells us long military occupations of sovereign nations always fail. As your president, I've come to the only logical conclusion… You're pulling us out of Iraq, sir? I'm appointing a "war czar" to referee bureaucratic squabbles between the State Department and other agencies. Just as wise. Then I'm refusing to give our soldiers a 3.5% pay raise.

Caption: Lemont interviews ABC Television about its docudrama "Path to World War II." Listen there may be inaccuracies but only to enhance the drama. We get all the basic facts right. You show Condoleeza Rice firing Macarthur when he warns them Japan's about to attack. Doesn't that make it more dramatic? And I don't think Macarthur carried a light saber.
