Caption: Last question … Will you be getting rid of your iPhone? What? Given how fed up you are with the reception and the flawed software, will you be getting rid of the phone? I don't understand. You mean you can't hear the question? It makes no sense. You mean: Get rid of the phone? Are you nuts? Yes, for continuing to listen to you.

Caption: Yes, you sir, with a question … Do you blame Steve Jobs? Bite your tongue. Mr. Jobs, the deity, obviously did not know the iPhone software was flawed. He was duped by his own mutinous engineers! If he's a deity, wouldn't he be all-knowing and therefore aware of the software flaw? Security, remove this blasphemer! Security seconds the question.

Caption: … the poor reception, and then the big revelation: The iPhone software suggested I was getting more bars of coverage than I was actually getting. It was, my friends, a scam, a scandal, a lie perpetrated on the people. What if you found out Lindsay Lohan didn't care about her fans?! What's he saying? Someone please bury me alive.

Caption: I have an idea for a new app: It'll tell you what your dog is thinking. What? How? Through a sensor planted in the dog's collar. Every time it barks, whines or sighs, the sensor will beam an English translation to your phone. It'll either say feed me, walk me, I need to potty, or leave me alone, or a random combination of those. That sounds like the most useless app ever. It'll also shout I'm running! when the dog is running.

Caption: What can I get you? The pumpernickel sriracha margarita mocha sounds good. Ok. Can I get you anything else, ma'am? Yes. An explanation of the Fermi paradox. Would you like the most common explanation, or the latest explanation? The latest would be lovely. Despite knowing there are trillions of planets out there, we haven't seen any evidence of alien life because we're part of a simulation. We exist on the computer of someone living in a higher reality. The limits of our knowledge are dictated by the sophistication of the guy's program. He's been steadily upgrading the program. That's why the Hubble telescope "discovered" all those "old" galaxies, and that's why we've "discovered" thousands of new planets. We'll "discover" aliens as soon as the guy running our simulation gets around to installing the "alien life" expansion pack. I meant to ask for that "to go."

Caption: I burned 3200 more calories yesterday than I consumed!!! You went for a long run? No. Oh. Well you must've followed my usual regimen: cross-fit, a few hours of weights … followed by several hours of evading jealous boyfriends. I forgot to enter the calories I consumed into my fitness app. You'd be surprised how many calories you burn evading buckshot.

Caption: I have an idea for a new app: It's an app that generates ideas for apps. What? Every time you're inconvenienced, the app will ask you to describe the inconvenience in great detail. Then it'll feed the variables into an algorithm and pop out an idea for an app that addresses that inconvenience. Having to detail all your inconveniences doesn't sound very convenient. Tell the app why that is, and it'll give you an app for that.

Caption: According to Elon Musk, time travel is possible. I can't wait to time-travel. Elon Musk said time travel is possible? Well, not in so many words. He said it's almost a certainty that we're living in a simulation being run by our descendants in the distant future. His reasoning makes sense. In just my lifetime, we went from "Pac-Man" to "The Sims," where Sims live, work, fall in love, have kids ... and in a few decades, the Sims will be artificially intelligent and they'll actually believe they're experiencing all that. If we're artificially intelligent Sims, then anything is possible. What time travel to be possible? Just wait for the Great Programmer to install the "time travel" expansion pack. Want to live forever? Get him to install the "immortality" expansion pack. According to Elon Musk, I'm one expansion pack away from being a billionaire playboy. Nothing doing. the Great Programmer exhausted all his "miracle" expansion packs 2,000 years ago. But he's still got some "delusion" expansions.

Caption: I bet you've filled your head with so many tweets and Instagrams that you've crowded out all your actual memories of your own life. Nonsense. I remember way back, all the way to … well let's see … oh, I've got it … My earliest memory was opening an America Online cd, putting it in our old PC, and seeing that symbol. You do realize that was the 1990s don't you? You must have already been in your teens. You are a very sick generation! I get misty-eyed when I think back to "you've got mail!"

Caption: I'm thinking of becoming an architect, now that you don't have to know math. You don't? I read an architect's blog. He debunked the "good at math" myth. He said he never went past algebra 2 and doesn't really need to know any more than his 5th grade kid does. I think I'll go in on the ground floor. Maybe design suspension bridges before working my way up to skyscrapers. HOJ. I am never driving or going inside a building again in life. If I need to find the hypotenuse of a bridge thingy, there's probably an app for that.

Caption: Did you see the "Star Wars" trailer? O … M … G!!! I'm avoiding it like the plague, little buddy. I saw the prequels. I won't get fooled again. You don't know what you're missing! This trailer is like fifty times more exciting and satisfying than all three prequels combined! In fact, I've just posted my own cut of the movie on YouTube. I just copied and pasted the trailer 90 times in Final Cut, so it repeats for two hours. It's already got 7 million views. George Lucas must need a hug right now.

Caption: What does the world need most this time of year, minion? Make no sudden movements. It needs to not feel guilty about all the broken New Year's resolutions. I'm not following you. I've created and artificial intelligence program that combs everything posted by or about you on social media ... and then decides your New Year's resolution for you. For instance, yours is to ask out Mbege Anyango from Cameroon. The A.I. was determined she's your soul mate. I've ... I mean the A.I. ... has taken the liberty of booking your flight and deducting all fares and fees from your checking. But I don't feel like going. The problem isn't making resolutions ... the problem is nobody keeps them. Your app doesn't solve that. It doesn't? Are you sure? What if I told you the A.I. also controls a used military drone I bought off eBay? Cameroon sounds lovely.

Caption: Your generation pushes a few buttons and makes a napp for your me-phone and calls that "initiative." In my day, initiative took muscle! It took moxie! The year was 1930. The depression. Ruined lives. Ruined futures. Ruined cities. And in those ruined cities, rats began to run rampant. One buxom young lass with a hammer and a dream seized the opportunity. You kids today would never have the moxie to smack your way across the country. What's a "hammer"?

Caption: You know how last year you told me you'd teach me how to pick up ladies? I said "If you spend a year working out." Well, in this past year, I've run 18,000 miles and burned tens of thousands of calories. Accidentally leaving your phone's pedometer on all year doesn't count, little buddy. You didn't say that beforehand. Loophole. Maybe next year.

Caption: In my day, kid, we couldn't illegally download movies from bittorrent. We had to illegally download movies from something called Limewire. I wish they'd hurry up and make movies load straight to our brains so kids'll be more amazed by my tales of hardship. (Yawn).
