1. Comic Strip Darrin Bell Candorville 2018-11-11 racial discrimination
Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Candorville

Image Number: 174713
Caption: How many people bought your new book, bruh? The Worlds Where They Never Stopped Minorities From Voting? So far it's doing well. I painstakingly went through every single election since ex-slaves won the right to vote … and matched polls and private journals with every recorded instance of voter suppression and every dirty trick from the moment reconstruction ended until today ... Several presidential races, dozens of Senate races, and hundreds of Congressional races would've turned out differently. Our nation's history would've been totally different if minorities were never robbed of their right to vote. It took me eighteen years of research and hard work to piece together alternate histories caused by each changed election outcome. Is there a alternate history where you done told me how many people bought your depressing book? It's doing well.

Caption: Starbucks HQ. The CEO will me with you in five minutes, Mr. Brown. Good. Say, what do you think of your stores in Philly and LA calling cops and security on black guys who ask to use the john? I really can't say, sir. Why don't you wait in the lounge? We've got a vending machine with coffee. No, thanks. Say, where's your restroom? Whachoo in for, freshmeat? Will you stop calling me that.

Caption: Starbucks HQ. Can I help you? I'm Lemont Brown, with Candorville.com. I have an appointment to interview your CEO about how one of your stores had two black men arrested for doing what white people do all the time. Are you sure you don't have an appointment with our black COO? She's the on our PR guys say should handle this. I'm sure. Oh, I'm also gonna ask him about the other store that didn't let the black guy use the bathroom 'cause he's black. I really think you should speak with our black COO.

Caption: Trump Campaign. John Barron speaking. Hi, I'm Lemont Brown with the Candorville Post. Right, we cover news, culture, opinion … I'm sure you've heard of us. We have 300,000 readers every day online. Mr. Trump says he's never heard of you, you're a total loser, you're overrated, and nobody likes you. He also says you don't treat him fairly. Probably because you're black ... He'd like me to add that nobody loves the blacks more than he does. They're tremendous.

5. Comic Strip Darrin Bell Candorville 2015-11-15 racial discrimination
Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Candorville
Viewable Date: 2015-11-15 Pub. Date: 2015-11-15
Image Number: 134847
Caption: I think I'm getting jaded, Doc. Dr. Noodle. A few weeks ago, Blingy & Poshman Jewelers in Candorville did something very, very racist. S. Pookie Blackman is a multimillionaire quarterback for the Candorville Chickens. He stopped by to check out some jewelry. As soon as they saw the 6'10" black man coming, the store employees locked the door, begged him to leave, and then when he rang the doorbell, they called the police. But when I heard all that, all I did was shrug and think "I hope he didn't end up buying anything." I see. It's normal. Sometimes your outrage-muscle needs a rest. I was able to work up some anger about the cops who asked him why he had a nice car.

6. Comic Strip Darrin Bell Candorville 2015-10-20 racial discrimination
Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Candorville
Viewable Date: 2015-10-20 Pub. Date: 2015-10-20
Image Number: 133799
Caption: If all them hundreds of mass shootings was bein' done by black men, we'd be confiscating guns tomorrow. When white people arm themselves so they can defend against the government, people call 'em "patriots." When black people do it, like the Black Panthers did, the same people call them "terrorists." This country ain't color-blind, dog, it's color-blinded. You're much less depressing when you just talk about french fries.

7. Comic Strip Darrin Bell Candorville 2015-09-27 racial discrimination
Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Candorville
Viewable Date: 2015-09-27 Pub. Date: 2015-09-27
Image Number: 132520
Caption: When someone says "Black Lives Matter," I respond by saying "All Lives Matter." Because I don't see color. But if you "don't see color," you can't see that young black men are far more likely to be shot unnecessarily by police than men of any other color. And you can't solve a problem if you can't even see it exists. It felt food to stand up for equality. So I didn't stop there. What do you mean? OWS protester love of red velvet cake. Daily Nut Job. Obama wet bed as child, covered it up. Goodnight Grandpa. I came across a "breast cancer survivor" meeting at the rec center. I poked my head in and shouted "All Cancer is Bad." By the looks on their faces, I could tell some of them realized they'd been totally horrible for acting like their cancer was so much more important than other cancers. Also confesses to having red "Little Red Riding Hood." Exoneration. I came across a funeral this morning, and after the eulogy I reminded the family that all people die, and that it's wrong of them to act like this one was more special than the rest of us. Has aversion to pepper spray. Why?

Caption: Studies show that teachers are more likely to harshly punish black students than they are white ones who do the same things. Even black teachers do it. How am I supposed to feel comfortable sending my baby boy out into the world when I know this sort of stuff happens? They done called me a "troublemaker" from day one. Didn't do me no harm. Maybe I'll home-school him til he's got his Ph.D. it was educational. I be in the principal office so much that I learned exactly where he keep his spare house keys.

Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Candorville

Image Number: 126616
Caption: Two Weeks Ago: America is celebrating a mother who was caught on video hitting her son in order to keep him from joining the Baltimore riot. Why is that, Chuck? Well, Chad, it's a well-known fact that black teens need to be beaten to make any lesson sink in. If she'd just taken him by the hand and marched him home, and lectured him privately, it wouldn't have registered in its brain. Um ... I mean, in his brain. Plus the rest of us wouldn't have gotten to enjoy it.

Caption: C-Dog don’t never dream 'cause dreamin' just make real life worse, Big L. Let's say I dream I can stand on a corner or walk across the street without some cop bothering me. Then I wake up, no matter where I go, there some cop lookin' out his car window at me, just waiting for a reason to "put me in my place." If I don't DREAM things can be better, then I ain't never disappointed. I know what you mean. Last night I dreamt you weren't depressing.

Caption: I haven't been pulled over by the cops for no reason in months. That means one of two thing: either racism is over … … Or they ran out of money and had to lay off some cops. Or you're driving better. I sent you an evite to racism's going away party.

Image Number: 105429
Caption: So there I was, standing next to a kettle ringing a bell, when this lady said to her friend, "That is DEFINITELY NOT Santa Claus." Rosencrantz, it's the height of ignorance to imply that Santa Claus has to be a white man. Maybe she was implying that Santa Claus has to be wearing pants. I only had enough change for half the costume. WRONG HALF!!!

Caption: You hear 'bout them black kids in Rochester who got arrested for loitering … … while all they was doin' was waitin' for they school bus? Does that surprise you? This is the country that described Travon Martin's screwdriver as a "burglary tool." In my hands, someone's liable to call this basketball a "weapon." Only if they ain't never played ball with you.

Caption: The South's new "voter ID laws" have nothing to do with race. Yeah, right. Thank God For Culture Clash. No really, it says right here in "The Delusional Black Man's Guide to Interpreting The Behavior of Others," top of page 150,786. "Even if they are recording everything you do, it's only to catch terrorists and will never be used against you if you're not a terrorist." Oops ... My bad; this is "The Delusional Citizens Guide to Interpreting The Behavior of Government."

Caption: I'm tired of people playing the race card every time a state restricts voting rights. Take North Carolina, for instance. I mean, sure, the head of Pasquotank County's Republican Party says he plans to challenge the voter registration of students at a historically black college. I don't see how that's racial. You don't? News-Weak. No, in fact, it's the people who NOTICED that most of the students at the black college are black ... They're the racists. You nose is bleeding. What are you talking about? I don't see any nose except yours. Maybe it's yours. Maybe it's YOURS that's bleeding. Hello, 911? ... Yes, I'll hold.

Caption: Obama's a war criminal. All the bombings and the drones and such … It didn’t bother you when Bush's wars killed a lot more people. Obama's a tyrant. All the spying and the prosecuting leakers and such … All Bush's snooping didn’t bother you one bit. Obama's lazy. He's always on vacation and golfing and such ... Bush took far more vacations. Didn't bother you at all, I recall. I suppose you're implying I only care now because Obama's black. That makes you a racist. Oh man, not the "race card" card.

Caption: You watching the trial? Which trial that be? The one where the half white, half Latino guy shot the black dude? Or the one where the black dude shot the white dude, or the one where the brutha shot that other brutha? Caring shouldn’t be race-biased. The ones where the white dudes shot the white dudes bore me. Thug 4 Life.

Caption: So why'd you quit your job? Told you. Dr. Noodle. Humor me. Fine. One more time … My boss came over to me, turned to everyone and said "I don’t like this brother. I never liked this brother. This brother never works." Seriously. Then she said "We need to get better brothers in this office or not get any at all." Turns out she was talkin' 'bout the printer behind me. Oh. Well that was just a misunderstanding. Then she said brothers must be made by Mexicans.
