Caption: I'm still trying to figure out why I spend the first year on health care instead of on jobs. After all, Bill Clinton did that, and it nearly wrecked his presidency. It's like I didn't learn from history. And for some reason, I waited until my political capital was almost gone before finally introducing the jobs bill. He really needs to work on his campaign ads. Caption: Long time no see, Bruh. Ain't been much work out there for a brutha. But I'M BACK! *@$%! I got a new gig with fear Inc. Mostly based on the work I did making out last president sound reasonable and clear-thinking. Some People. They were particularly impressed with how I'd say "If you're Muslim, you can't be free," so then the president could say "I disagree with that" and start wars and whatnot. They said not every strawman is capable of that kind of subtlety. Some People. Good for you. I got a whole new repertoire. Check this out: "We need to punish success." Some People. That's not subtle at all. How 'bout "Let's just hand the country over to illegals"? Some People.

Caption: Obama is Ralph Ellison's "Invisible Man" incarnate. He grins and says "Yes, sir" and "Yes, ma'am." And while we're all focused on his huge, dramatic cave-ins over here ... he's accomplishing all sorts of little things over there. Cool, cool. Problem is, people don't vote for invisible men. People are too busy living their lives to pay attention to all the ... Are you still talking?

In Ralph Ellison's "Invisible Man," the narrator's grandfather says that while black men can work quietly in the shadows to achieve their goals ... outwardly they have to appear humble and submissive. Obama always seems to be backing down and giving in ... but somehow, without us noticing, he's accomplished most of his campaign promises. Say what? (Sigh)... Ok, President Obama is like a ninja. Caption: How you gonna always criticize President Obama, Dawg? 'Cause he's no Roosevelt. Roosevelt didn't try to be "bipartisan." He attacked war profiteers, Wall Street crooks and republicans who tried obstructing his jobs programs. And he almost never backed down. When people called him "Communist," Roosevelt didn't take the high road, Roosevelt called them greedy enemies of working Americans. Roosevelt didn't have to worry 'bout people dismissing him as an "angry black man."

Caption: When the President refused to exted the Bush tax cuts, he explained why and that made sense to me. Dr. Noodle. But then when he extend them, I was confused. When the President insisted on a public option for health care, he explained why and that made sense to me. But then he abandoned the public option. I was confused. When the President insisted that the very rich, not just the poor, have to sacrifice to help balance the budget, that made sense to me. But then he signed a bill that didn't ask the very rich to pay even a single cent more in taxes. And you're confused. Not anymore. I miss being confused.
