Caption: Lotta Democrats runnin' for president, bruh. Kamala Harris my first choice. Cool … Why? Whachoomean why? I mean, which of her ideas do you like best? Which of her policies? I like her 'cause she tough. She don't take no mess. She handle business. That's not a policy. It is where I come from.

Caption: This is Facebook. Mark Zuckerberg speaking. Hi. I'm publishing a story tomorrow about how you were letting companies like Netflix and Spotify read private messages. Do you admit that you did that? Facebook's partners don't get to ignore people's privacy settings, and it's wrong to suggest that they do. It's a yes or no question. We are focused on developing clearer policies.

Caption: Hello, you've reached the Breakeezy warranty department. This is Ryan. How may I hinder you? Hi Ryan. I called last week to tell you the water dispenser on my Breakeezy refrigerator was stuck and pouring water all over my floor. I'd just bought a $400 extended warranty a month earlier. you sent out a repairman, and he fixed it. Then he sent me a bill for $200. He said you told him the repair wasn't covered by my policy! That's right. The fine print clearly states that we don't cover pre-existing problems. It broke a month after I bought the warranty! After!!! That's not pre-existing! The fine print's fine print clearly states that quantum theory suggests time may flow in both directions.

Caption: Fairness & Accuracy in Reporting surveyed the five top newspapers in America after our attack on Syria. They found that the papers ran 18 opinion pieces about the attack. Guess how many of them were opposed to it? And how many mentioned it was illegal? I'm guessing it was less than 18. It was zero. What I win? I was right, so do I win somethin'? You win a military industrial journalism complex.

Caption: It all started when I considered voting for Donald Trump. He's against illegal immigration. I'm against illegal immigration. So why not? People said that made him racist. But I agree with him, and I know I'm not racist. And if people were wrong to call him "racist" about that, maybe they're wrong to call him racist about everything. I started arguing with my own wife. I said demanding Obama's birth certificate wasn't racist. I said wanting to ban all Muslim immigrants wasn't racist. Trump saying a judge couldn't do his job because he's Mexican-American? I said that wasn't racist. I said the fact he kept retweeting white supremacists wasn't racist. But yesterday ... I caught myself saying "What's so racist about white supremacists anyway?" You're worried that supporting Trump is desensitizing you to racism? No, I just wondered if I can bunk here tonight. My wife kicked me out.

Caption: Let's watch "Lou Grant" on Hulu. "Lou Grant"? Ain't that that show your momma used to watch when we was kids? Yeah. I ran out of things to watch, so I figured I'd finally check out some of the shows that bored me to death when I was young. It was really depressing. If it was depressin', why you wanna watch it? I mean it's depressing how good it is. Our parents' generation had writers and actors who knew how to use mature, flawed characters to tell stories that really examined human nature in all its intricacies. And it's set in a major newspaper back when they were still widely read and mostly family-owned, and saw what they did as a calling. When I think of all the time I wasted watching "Sesame Street" when I could've watched this ... I don't watch nothin' older than the milk in my fridge, bruh. That's policy.

Caption: I'm flying to Oakland for a book festival in two week. "Vancouver" is going to be there too. The girl you been talkin' to long-distance? You ain't never told me how you met her in the first place. Yeah I did, Clyde. I called you as soon as it happened and told you every last detail. You and I talked for five hours! Anything more'n two minutes, I set the phone down an' watch tv. It's a policy. But you kept applauding! Must've been the studio audience you heard, bruh.

Caption: You're going to vote for Trump? He a man of action, dawg. Yeah. But what kind of action? What that matter? I'm tired of electin' people who can't get spit done. Do you like what he says he can get done? What that have to do with anything? What do you mean? It has everything to do with everything! If someone wants to accomplish awful things, you shouldn't want him to accomplish them. What if he said he was the only candidate on stage who could successfully build a puppy-melting death ray? Well ... probably can't Hillary build no death ray. She ain't never persuaded nobody to do nothin; noway. That's not the point!!!

Caption: I still can't believe the President is normalizing relations with Cuba. Me neither. Your realize how long it's been since American let its people hang out in Cuba? Two words, Susan: "Ricky Ricardo." The U.S. has been giving Cuba the cold shoulder ever since Ricky Ricardo was married to Lucy, and it tool till now for us to admit it wasn't working. Gene Roddenberry was still trying to sell some TV show about World War II. You lost me on that one. The original Star Trek wouldn't exist for another five years!

Caption: We've invaded dozens of sovereign nations. Everywhere from Mexico to Cuba to Iraq. So it IS kinda strange that we're getting so bent out of shape about Russia doing the same thing. No it ain't. Anytime a thug wanna feel like he a good person, all he have to do is condemn some other thug. Wasn't that your thesis statement in kindergarten? It's still relevant.

Caption: I’m sick of liberals saying we should raise taxes to help pay off the national debt. If the government were a household that spent more than it took in, the parents would do the ONLY THING they could, and cut back on unnecessary expenses. Um … They could also look for higher-paying jobs that brought in more revenue. What'd you say? I was on the phone cancelling my electricity and my phone.(Cartoon originally published 2011-04-23).

Caption: I'm tired of Republicans saying we need to change our policies in order to appeal to the rising tide of Latino voters. We don’t need to change our message, we only need to change the way we communicate it. Thank God For Culture Clash. How do you say "go home" very politely in Spanish? Did you know "Rosetta Stone" costs as much as a small country? Thank God For Culture Clash.

Caption: If you ask me, Arizona gets a bad rap from all the waters. Sir … Slang …? No. So now cops are supposed to check the immigration status of anyone who looks like he shouldn't be here. It's all good. Stop it. So maybe you have to show some papers … If you have nothing to hide, then you'll have nothing but epic win. !Dios mio! !Callate, viejo! You're swerving, Garcia. But I ain't hatin'. Knottamean? Weeoo weeoo. (Originally published in 2010)

Caption: To be honest, I haven't been on a date in a while. I called you for the first time in three years because I just got out of a long-term relationship with a soul-crushing demon who twisted everything I said to make me seem like I was always wrong … Wrong to like Star Trek, wrong to listen to Lenny Kravitz, wrong to ask her not to yell at me. When I said "Don't yell at me," she would say "Why? You think your special or something?" Pass the salt? I once asked her to pass the salt, and she said "A real man would get the salt himself." She was always doing that kind of thing. I asked you out in the hopes you'll restore my faith in romance before I get cynical and bitter. Note to self: Honesty is not the best policy, Would you excuse me for a moment, as I back away slowly and then start running?

Caption: When the President refused to exted the Bush tax cuts, he explained why and that made sense to me. Dr. Noodle. But then when he extend them, I was confused. When the President insisted on a public option for health care, he explained why and that made sense to me. But then he abandoned the public option. I was confused. When the President insisted that the very rich, not just the poor, have to sacrifice to help balance the budget, that made sense to me. But then he signed a bill that didn't ask the very rich to pay even a single cent more in taxes. And you're confused. Not anymore. I miss being confused.
