Caption: All the police brutality in the news makes it seem like it's happening more. It's not? Of course not. We've had police brutality ever since we first had police. You youngsters don’t know what police brutality is. Everything you've seen on your TV is what's done by police who know they're probably being recorded. When I was your age, there were no cellphone cameras or dashboard cams. Imagine what cops did before cameras existed! Anything that happened before I was born is meaningless to me.

Caption: What's more likely, Lemont? That you had a psychotic break and you're lying on a gurney in Sunnyville sanitarium, hallucinating? Or that you and your therapist are stuck in Mexico, where we were kidnapped, chased by wolves, had tea with the most brutal drug cartel boss in Juarez ... ... And now you're going to interview a demon called La Llorona who steals the souls of the city's children? You're right. That's absurd. My HMO would NEVER cover hallucinations.

Democrats wimp out, we don't get universal health care … … So a million or so Americans will die prematurely over the next 60 years. One of 'em, ironically, was close to discovering the cure for death. I said important, @#$%! (Sigh) ... In 2015, there'll be a big budget "Gilligan's Island" movie starring Wesley Snipes and Tom Hanks. Now we talkin'. I was hoping my memories of you were distorted by the senility. Will Kanye ever stop bein' a punk-@#$?

Caption: I am Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the United Federation of Planets. I assure you we are on a mission of peace. Grumble. The current administration shouldn't prosecute anyone who ordered the torture of war criminals. And that is by no means a self-serving argument. I sense hostility, Captain. I don't believe any of that ever happened, Lemont. WELL IT MIGHT AS WELL HAVE!

Caption: In an alternate universe, the events of 1948 happen instead of 2009. But for some reason, instead of allowing them to be punished, President Obama PARDONS all Japanese and Nazi war criminals. …So then at Nuremberg when the top Nazis said "We were just following orders," that made a lot of sense to me. You can't really punish folks for torturing prisoners when they were just following orders. ...I mean, what were they SUPPOSED to do? Not follow them. Well... yeah... there's THAT.

Caption: In an alternate reality, the events of 1948 happen instead of 2009. Sorry, boss, I can't possibly read this depressing news in an excited tone. I'd feel like a heel. Yer a good man, Brown. You got principles. But what the people want is excitement, see? I don't know, boss. I got another story for ya to read, then. The headline: "Miracle Cure for Principles Found! It's Called Getting Fired!" President Obama says "It's better not to point fingers" and pardons the Japanese war criminals who tortured our boys! Now that takes moxie!

The civilized world demands either prison or death for the Japanese who ordered torture of Allied war prisoners! President Barack Obama himself says the civilized world must hold these sadists accountable for their inhuman acts of torture! ...And that's why he vows to protect them all from prosecution! Caption: In an alternate universe, the events of 1948 happen instead of 2009. Tokyo! Imperial Japanese officers sit in grim silence, accused of waterboarding allied prisoners of war! I thought I was drowning. Sometimes they even did it five or six times a day. OH, THE HUMANITY! The entire civilized world is SHOCKED by what is clearly torture! Savages! Moider da bums! Why, I oughta... Mfmw.

Caption: It's October 1985. I'm basking in the two-million-year-old light of Andromeda. I can see the Supernova that Ernst Hartwig discovered in 1885, a century ago. It's February, 1895. I'm watching Joseph Pulitzer add the very first comic strip to tempt young readers to buy his newspaper. It's April, 2009, I'm watching myself explain to a congressional committee why the newspaper industry is dying. It's March, 2009. I'm watching an editor who just dropped a full page of comics wonder why young people won't buy his paper.

Caption: Anything interesting happen today, Clyde? I bought Bebe's vintage man Parrish LP. The one with "Boogie Down Bronx" on it. Cool. Got it with the money I made sellin' inauguration tickets to the ghosts of Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln. See I'd probably have led with that, not with "Boogie Down Bronx," but that's just me.

Caption: …So Phil Anders shows up like nothing ever happened, right? Like he's never insulted me, never made me feel like dirt, never made me feel ignored… SUSAN, I SAID I JUST GOT BACK FROM A SUPERNATURAL TIME-SPACE VORTEX IN VIETNAM WHERE I MAY HAVE GIVEN CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS BAD DIRECTIONS AND INADVERTENTLY CAUSED THE SUBJUGTION OF THE NATIVE AMERICANS! ...And if there's one thing I hate, it's being ignored, so I told him...
