Caption: Wouldn't it be cool if we could live in the Middle Ages, Randy? We could roam the countryside on horses and carry swords. We could hang out in taverns and drink ale, maybe earn enough coin to hire a hero … Then we could go on a quest. Maybe slay some golems. I think it's a real sign of intellectual maturity that we haven't even mentioned maidens yet. Real Middle-Ages maidens would eat you for breakfast.

Caption: Clyde picks up Lemont's son Lionel from daycare. I'ma tell you the only mature way to deal with a bully, little man. You know karate? No. Kung fu? No. Tae kwon do? No. Can you do a flying scissor kick? No. Pile driver? No. Boston crab? No. Get you a bigger friend. Ok.

Caption: How's your boy? Lionel's amazing! I put his little shoe on him and was about to tie it … when all of a sudden he reached down with his tiny, pudgy little hands and tied them himself. Can you believe that?! He's only two years old - Most kids can't ties their shoes until they're at least five! He's so advanced! At this rate, by the time he's ten, my boy won't need me for anything!

Caption: Let's watch "Lou Grant" on Hulu. "Lou Grant"? Ain't that that show your momma used to watch when we was kids? Yeah. I ran out of things to watch, so I figured I'd finally check out some of the shows that bored me to death when I was young. It was really depressing. If it was depressin', why you wanna watch it? I mean it's depressing how good it is. Our parents' generation had writers and actors who knew how to use mature, flawed characters to tell stories that really examined human nature in all its intricacies. And it's set in a major newspaper back when they were still widely read and mostly family-owned, and saw what they did as a calling. When I think of all the time I wasted watching "Sesame Street" when I could've watched this ... I don't watch nothin' older than the milk in my fridge, bruh. That's policy.

Caption: This is probably the last snow of the year, Clyde. For all we know, it could be the last snow ever. Want to go out and make snowmen like we used to? Nah, bruh. You wanna know why? … 'cause I'm a grown-a#$ man. Let the memory show the only reason I didn't get dressed and trudge out into subzero weather to dig my hands in the snow is 'cause you ruined it. Why I feel like I been set up?

Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Candorville
Viewable Date: 2015-06-13 Pub. Date: 2015-06-13
Image Number: 128072
Caption: You know why I'm optimistic about the future, Susan? The movies. When I was a kid, everyone thought "Mad Max" and "Red Dawn" were possible futures. That's because all were certain that, sooner or later, we and the Russians would nuke each other, and only mutants, robots and guys wearing leather would survive. We don't see post-apocalyptic movies as documentaries anymore. You don't think that's just 'cause we're grown? Pessimist.

Caption: You notice ain't no one talkin' 'bout them kidnapped girls from Africa no more? That's only 'cause there've been no new developments in their story, Clyde. Every day they still ain't home a new development, bruh. Clyde … either I'm rubbing off on you, or you're getting more insightful all on your own. Given the choice between intimacy an' personal growth ... I choose tacos.

Caption: Lionel was reading "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost. "Two roads diverged in a wood, and I - I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference." You know everyone on Earth takes that line out of context? Frost is actually expressing regret there. He's torn about it. Just like everyone else, Lionel wrongly thought Frost was expressing pride. Nobody ever pays attention to the context of anything anymore. Wait ... your two-year-old is reading Robert Frost?

Comic/Cartoon: Candorville

Caption: I liked it. What'd you think, Lemont? I think I'm getting old. X-MEN. I should've loved it. It was well-made. But I just sat there feeling like I've seen this same story a million times. The good guys face impossible odds and somehow triumph. That's it. Everything else is just details. I liked Wolverine. You mean you liked "Frodo-Rocky-Potter-Spider-Super-Skywalker-Doubtfire-verine."

Caption: Wanna play "Horse"? NO I don’t wanna play "Horse." Thug 4 Life. When you gon' learn to play basketball like a grown man? Grown men dribble the ball. Grown men sweat. Grown men throw elbows. Grown men talk trash about each other mommas. I would've said "Wanna play 'Clyde's Momma'?" But I thought "Horse" was more concise. Too little too late.

Image Number: 84528
Caption: I'm gonna give you a note to give your son. What's it say? "I'm sorry for calling you a son of a doody-head in day care yesterday." Did I spell "doody" right? That's just a bunch of squiggles. Saying sorry when you don’t mean it is a sign of maturity.

Caption: It's ok. You can use my struggle and my death as a teachable moment. You're only talking about your image of me, not the real me. You may have had a poster of me on your wall, but … you weren't with me to see me mature and see how truly blessed I felt. My songs may have connected with you deep in your soul, but ... you don't know me. I was actually more of a Prince fan. Not. At all. My point.

Caption: What do you mean, nobody should own a dog? Just yesterday, you said you have three of them. I don't recall that. Communist Muslims from Kenya who're too busy apologizing for America to produce their birth certificates … THEY own dogs. The American people, on the other hand, know that dogs are untrustworthy. I mean, c'mon ... all those legs? It's just not natural. You can't suddenly be against something you used to favor, just because Obama favors it too. That's not a very honest or mature way to ... Oh. It's because Obama's trying to quit smoking. I don't re-cough HACK! - recall HACK!

Caption: No, I'm not going with you to your lame elementary school reunion. Munch. Munch, munch. Who has ELEMENTARY school reunions anyway? What's there to reminisce about, who ate the most boogers? Stop being naïve. Stop living in the past. You're a grown-up, act like a grown-up. "No thanks" would've sufficed. Munch mun-. Back-stab a friend for a promotion; cheat on your taxes -- SOMETHING!

Caption: Y'know, when I was a kid I thought Eudora meddled in Darrin and Samantha's life, causin' trouble outta spite. I hated her. Thought she was nuts. Evil. But the other day, I looked at it all again, and man … I agreed with every last word Eudora said. She was all about the importance of being honest and true to oneself, while Darrin was selfishly trying to force Samantha to deny here true nature just 'cause he was insecure. Suddenly I realized it was Darrin who was wrong all along, not Eudora. And then it struck me. Susan: I really have matured. Not if you measure maturity by how you react to "Bewitched." Darrin Stevens could learn a thing or two from Major Nelson.
