Caption: I'm trying to pinpoint the exact moment in history when me were at their most manly. There are hundreds of variables to consider. My initial calculations showed it was the "Greatest Generation" circa 1945 in all the Allied countries. But then I realized I'd forgotten about the high-waisted pants. When I factored that in, they fell a few decimal points behind Genghis Khan's Mongol horde. But then I realized I'd forgotten to carry the "1." Never forget to carry the "1."

Caption: Can I ask you a question, man-to-man? Sure, little buddy. Is it manly to keep a diary? I've thought of journaling, to help me process all the unbearable horrors and losses I experience. Like when they discontinued the Sega Genesis. I bet journaling would've helped me through that difficult time of my life. "Difficult time of your life"? Instead, I sank deep into depression, refused to speak, and painted my Apple Newton black.

Caption: Let me ask you a man-to-man question, Randy, asterisk. Shoot. Let's say you wake up, you look in the mirror, and you notice your first gray hair. Would it be manlier to immediately pluck it out and pretend it never happened, or would it be manlier to tell yourself it's actually blond? Armstrong, avoiding the truth is never manl ... wait ... "asterisk"? (Asterisk) By answering my question you enter into a binding non-disclosure agreement.

Caption: Man-to-man talk, Randy. Proceed, friend. If you were being audited, and you may have accidentally burned all your receipts and ledgers … would it be manlier to run away to a country that has no extradition treaty with ours, or to weasel out of it by ratting out an even bigger tax cheat? Or, would it be manlier to frame the auditor for a crime he didn't commit? Gonna have to take a day to think about this one.

Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park
Viewable Date: 2015-10-25 Pub. Date: 2015-10-25
Image Number: 133540
Caption: Harrison Ford, no question. Tom Selleck, without a doubt. I don't care if they did offer Selleck the role first, Ford was a much better "Indiana Jones." Ford was ok, but his character was less than manly. What are you talking about? That's ridiculous! Harrison Ford was the definition of eighties manliness! You're telling me the "definition of eighties manliness" could run around the world for weeks and months at a time ... and never once grow anything more than a little stubble? I think maybe you're a little biased about the whole "big giant mustache" issue. Likewise, my patchy little stubbly friend. On matters of great import, even the philosophers must sometimes agree to disagree. STOP!!! All the greatest philosophers had big mustaches, you know.

12. Comic Strip Darrin Bell Rudy Park 2015-04-27 manly man
Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park
Viewable Date: 2015-04-27 Pub. Date: 2015-04-27
Image Number: 126199
Caption: I have an awful headache. Do you have an aspirin? Not so fast, little buddy. A real man doesn't mask his symptoms with pharmaceuticals. Even if it feels like a jackhammer on his forehead, a real man grits his teeth and bears it. A real man rides it out the way he'd ride out a bucking bronco. Not everything in life is a test of my manhood. A real man would beg to differ.

Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park

Image Number: 125627
Caption: I just bought a new Kindle Voyage. It's much better than my Kindle Paperwhite. Blasphemy, little buddy. A real man lugs around a paperback that he's milled from a fallen Redwood that he lifted off of a baby deer, before reuniting the fawn with its mother. I bought it off of Amazon. I didn't even use "one-click." I used the shopping cart and chose all the options manually. Almost as impressive. I keep it old-school.

14. Comic Strip Darrin Bell Rudy Park 2015-01-23 manly man
Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park
Viewable Date: 2015-01-23 Pub. Date: 2015-01-23
Image Number: 121924
Caption: I've grown a mustache. How cool is it? This'll change everything for me. Seat's taken. Move on. What do you mean? One man with a mustache is manly. Sexy. Magnetic. Two men with mustaches is humorous, goofy. It's self-parody, as if they're in some sort of mustache club. You mean there's no mustache club? Either shave or find a new friend.

15. Comic Strip Darrin Bell Rudy Park 2015-01-15 manly man
Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park
Viewable Date: 2015-01-15 Pub. Date: 2015-01-15
Image Number: 121462
Caption: I asked a lady if she wanted to grab a kale smoothie with me. She totally ignored me. Of course she did. Very few ladies are interested in a guy who latches on to the latest fads. It suggests you've got a roving eye, and you'll leave her for someone new later on. Most women like a man who's "classic." Solid. Reliable. Unmoved by the ever-changing winds. That's why I eat nothing but nuts, berries and hippos. If it was good enough for the cavemen, it's good enough for me. I thought cavemen ate brontosauruses.

16. Comic Strip Darrin Bell Rudy Park 2014-11-22 manly man
Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park
Viewable Date: 2014-11-22 Pub. Date: 2014-11-22
Image Number: 119147
Caption: Think I'll be a more effective alpha male if I learn to play pool? That's on of those things you always see an alpha male do: stand around a pool hall polishing his stick and racking up the balls. … Sizing up his shot, like he's secretly a geometric wizard who's about to make the whole world line up the way he wants it to just with one whack. Or maybe I should take up darts, where I myself become an extension of the missile I'm launching. Any sport in the bar family works.

Comic/Cartoon: Fusco Brothers
Viewable Date: 2013-12-27 Pub. Date: 2013-12-27
Image Number: 104865
Caption: It takes a real man to order a drink with a parasol in it. A man who knows he's a man. A man who doesn’t care what others may say. A manly man. A man's man. Or a sissy, of course. ! !

18. Comic Strip Darrin Bell Candorville 2013-12-10 manly man
Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Candorville
Viewable Date: 2013-12-10 Pub. Date: 2013-12-10
Image Number: 104848
Caption: Wanna play "Horse"? NO I don’t wanna play "Horse." Thug 4 Life. When you gon' learn to play basketball like a grown man? Grown men dribble the ball. Grown men sweat. Grown men throw elbows. Grown men talk trash about each other mommas. I would've said "Wanna play 'Clyde's Momma'?" But I thought "Horse" was more concise. Too little too late.

Caption: Does Quill's bed fit in your room ok, Gunthie? Yes. And I decorated his side with Aussie things. I'm so excited about Quill living here! It will be like having a brother! We can do things together like - SEW! No. Not sew. Magic, then! My Gunthie loves his magic! Mom, don't call me Gunthie when Quill's here, ok? We need to man up a bit.

Caption: Seriously? You don’t own a swimsuit? I DO, but it's from when I was six. Has the surfs on it. Boys Swimwear. Dude, we gotta man you up! Get you hunkified! URRR! How about this? Boys. That's SuperBOY. Time to become SuperMAN. Can't I just be Clark Kent? MEN.
