Caption: This morning I found a thin hair growing out of my knuckle. And so it ends. Your virility, your potential, your conviction, your magnetism, your youth itself … all begin to fade into an increasingly distant past as soon as you discover your first hair that's grown in a place where hair isn't supposed to grow ... or so I'm told. It's never happened in my family. "Genetically magnificent," I believe is the technical term. It was like two inches long.

And in Hawaii, a magnificent lava flow is pouring into the ocean! Ah -- lava's a many-splendored thing. It's so hot in Texas, they're cooking eggs on the road! The yellow roads of Texas.
