I was on a crowded bus yesterday. It was standing room only. All of a sudden I felt someone tapping me on my shoulder. I turned around and it was a little old lady offering me her seat. I couldn't believe it. I guess she thought I looked like I needed it more than her. It kind of restores your faith in the basic kindness of people, doesn't it? I'm not getting out of your chair.
I've been thinking we should start doing some kind of volunteer work, Earl. You know … do our part to give something back to the community. I'm already doing that. Just yesterday I helped a little old lady cross the street. Oh, for Pete's sake! That was me, Earl!!
