Caption: I feel like when I was a kid, there was a lot more life out there. More butterflies. More lizards. More roly-poly bugs. Yeah. Same here. I always thought that was because the older I get, the less attention I pay to stuff like that. But then I read that we've finally gone ahead and caused the world's sixth great extinction event. Species are dying off 10,000 times faster than normal now. That's great news! It means the vanishing of butterflies isn't just me being self-absorbed.

Caption: Monopoly Cable, Ryan speaking. How may I hinder you? You dropped CBS. 10% of the shows I watched were on CBS. Since you're giving me 10% less product, I will be paying you 10% less money. Ok sir, that sounds reasonable. Coincidentally, we were about to raise your rates by 10%, so let's call it even.

Caption: Do you believe in the multiverse, Randy? Of course, little buddy. I am the ultimate specimen of manhood. The paragon of masculinity. Something like that can't be created on the first attempt. Therefore there must be an infinite number of less ideal Randies out there in parallel universes, who can't get dates. You've put a lot of thought into this. I've submitted Randy's cosmological theorem to all the academic journals.

Caption: It all started when my son sat up for the first time. All of a sudden, he didn't need me to prop him up on the couch. And then when he was seven months old, he started crawling. Suddenly he didn't need me to carry him where he wanted to go. Then when he learned to talk at 16 months old, he didn't need me to figure out what would make him happy. He'd tell me. Then when he went to day care at 22 months, he didn't look to me for all his answers. Now he had other grownups to ask. It's like every single day, I become less and less important. Only if you're doing your job right. I was hoping to hold off on the potty training till he was 144 months.

Now whenever anyone searches for "Sadie Cohen" … They'll find that your personal hygiene leaves a lot to be desired … and that you're the world's first successfully-bred human-wildebeest hybrid. Caption: You should cut the cord. I did it years ago. What do you mean? I canceled cable. I get the same stuff I used to see for much less, by streaming Netflix, Hulu and Amazon through a Roku box … and by buying season passes to three shows and illegally downloading about a dozen others from bit torrent. Did you know "Game of Thrones" is a lot scarier in Russian? I'll stick with cable.

Caption: Service Dept. Now With Auto Pilot! How do you like the new high-rech control system on your car, Frank? It takes all the thinking out of driving, freeing up my mind to try to figure out a way of making the payments. What about the "no-hassle" service agreement? There's no hassling - I pay for everything! Look at these charges! "Customer waiting area wi-fi fee," "hydraulic life surcharge," "bill preparation fee." The list goes on! I came in for a simple tune-up and I'm paying for a whole concert!

Sounds like one more thing to do. No, it's one less non-thing to do. It's anti-doing, active inactivity, the total absence of complete presence. The mindful de-minding of mindless - Stop. M.A. But we should at least have trains and tracks that can't toss us off to our deaths now. The older I get, the less I expect. That's perfectly normal, Lemont.

Caption: Today, an installment of our periodic feature: Uncle Mort's Less Than Mainstream Theories™ Of late, there has been a most welcome decline in crime in America. For whatever reason, I now feel comfortable taking a leisurely stroll at night, and I can wear my favorite blue flannel shirt without being shot at by gangsters who mistake me for a Crip. But let me explain what's really going on. THIS IS ALL A CONSPIRACY BY FLANNEL-SHIRT INDUSTRY EXECUTIVES! They've clearly convinced gangs across the country to cut down on the violence in return for some sort of profit-sharing arrangement. The saggy-jean industry is in on this too. A guy in skinny jeans tried to mug me. Couldn't get his own gun out of his pocket. Which also accounts for the falling crime.

Caption: I saw this video brothas be postin' on Facebook. It show three country brothas sittin' on they porch. The first brotha ask the other two, "If you goin' 80 miles per hour, how long does it take you to go 80 miles?" Them other two grown-#*$ men sit there an' think real hard about it. One of them sure it'd take eight hours. The other one more optimistic. He say it might take six. Then eight-hour brotha say he want the formula so he can get his calculations right. Do the question for you is, given all them variables, how long would it take three brothas to decide to make us all look bad on Facebook? Probably less than eight hours.
