Cartoonist(s): Brian Crane
Comic/Cartoon: Pickles
Viewable Date: 2016-02-25 Pub. Date: 2016-02-25
Image Number: 138985
Caption: You know what they say about good friends? They can go long periods of time without speaking and never question the friendship. What do you think? Oh, it's true. In fact, the less you talk, the more I like you.

122. Comic Strip Darrin Bell Rudy Park 2016-02-18 less
Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park
Viewable Date: 2016-02-18 Pub. Date: 2016-02-18
Image Number: 139255
Caption: I don't know how to tell you this, but … I've been watching "Supergirl." Nothing wrong with that. A real man isn't afraid to look up to a woman hero. Women heroes are the best, because not only do they have to conquer villains, they also have to put up with those villains ogling them. Captain America never had to tell The Red Skull "Hey, my face is up here" while he was pummeling him. Women superheroes are also paid less. ... Except Wonder Woman. The last guy who tried to pay her less was never heard from again.

Caption: Well, that was an interesting double date, Lemont. We should do it again sometime. Only next time, maybe your date could actually show up in person, you could leave Skype and the helicopter drone at home, and the evening could end with less blood and stitches. You're never going to let me live that one down, are you? We'll be talking about it in the nursing home.

Image Number: 138298
Caption: The Double Date. Tell me about yourself, Ace. Not much to tell, really. As a small child I led twelve other children through Siberia on foot to escape the Soviet Union. I fashioned a raft out of twigs and grass and sailed across the Bering Strait to Alaska, where I went on to found a multi-million-dollar blubber company by the age of twelve. You? Same. More or less.

Image Number: 136952
Caption: I heard a rumor that he's going to deliver presents using drones this year! I hope not! Drone technology is far less reliable than Rudolph and the other reindeer! And besides, Christmas eve won't be the same if the sound of sleigh bells is replaced by the buzzing of a drone! My big brother said if I don't make his bed for him every day, he'll hack into Santa's database and put me on the "naughty" list. I've never trusted his computer system. And e-mail. I ask for presents with a hard-copy letter, and I'm getting his phone number so I can follow-up with a text. I'm just here to find out if gift requests are negotiable. If so, I'll have my rep give his rep a call.

Image Number: 135444
Caption: Earl, the idea of using smaller dinner plates is to eat less. So no fair using two smaller plates! That defeats the whole purpose! All right! All right! What? I'm only using one small plate!

Cartoonist(s): Brian Crane
Comic/Cartoon: Pickles
Viewable Date: 2015-12-01 Pub. Date: 2015-12-01
Image Number: 135443
Caption: Look, Sylvia, I've started using smaller dinner plates instead of these big ones. With a smaller plate you eat less, but your brain tells you you've cleaned your plate, so you feel full. How does dad feel about eating from a smaller plate? Oh, he's fine with it. But he insists on having two of them.

Cartoonist(s): Brian Crane
Comic/Cartoon: Pickles
Viewable Date: 2015-11-30 Pub. Date: 2015-11-30
Image Number: 135442
Caption: Did you notice I served our dinner on smaller plates tonight? This way our plates look full with less food on them. That leads us to eat less and lose weight. Great idea! Where are you going? To get seconds.

Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park
Viewable Date: 2015-10-25 Pub. Date: 2015-10-25
Image Number: 133540
Caption: Harrison Ford, no question. Tom Selleck, without a doubt. I don't care if they did offer Selleck the role first, Ford was a much better "Indiana Jones." Ford was ok, but his character was less than manly. What are you talking about? That's ridiculous! Harrison Ford was the definition of eighties manliness! You're telling me the "definition of eighties manliness" could run around the world for weeks and months at a time ... and never once grow anything more than a little stubble? I think maybe you're a little biased about the whole "big giant mustache" issue. Likewise, my patchy little stubbly friend. On matters of great import, even the philosophers must sometimes agree to disagree. STOP!!! All the greatest philosophers had big mustaches, you know.

133. Comic Strip Darrin Bell Candorville 2015-10-20 less
Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Candorville
Viewable Date: 2015-10-20 Pub. Date: 2015-10-20
Image Number: 133799
Caption: If all them hundreds of mass shootings was bein' done by black men, we'd be confiscating guns tomorrow. When white people arm themselves so they can defend against the government, people call 'em "patriots." When black people do it, like the Black Panthers did, the same people call them "terrorists." This country ain't color-blind, dog, it's color-blinded. You're much less depressing when you just talk about french fries.

Caption: What's your most calming drink? I'd say the hot cocoa. Why? Oh, it's nothing. We'll ... You sound like you want to talk about it. Well ... Here's the thing: I was just abducted by a UFO. You were what? Yeah. They were green. Each one had two heads, and they were really, really interested in having nookie with me. Are you serious? Yeah. Until I opened my mouth. The more I spoke, the less interested they seemed. Really? They were still going to probe me ... I was all strapped in and everything. But when they notices I was checking my texts, and they got all offended and beamed me home. Making a bad impression is stressful. One hot cocoa coming up.

Image Number: 133872
Caption: Boss, what if I told you I forgot to lock up last night and someone totally robbed us blind? I'd say "no problem," because of your contract. My contract? It allows me to auction off your less vital internal organs to recover any damages you cause me. You really should read the fine print before you sign the papers, minion. I did. But I wrote in finer print that all fine print is null and void. Only the ruling class can use fine print, minion.

Caption: As soon as I turn off the talking heads, I feel less anxious. Click. So, mom? Uh-oh. Cheesy smile alert. The lacrosse gloves I want are $140. I'm feeling anxious. Where's your off button?

137. Comic Strip Darrin Bell Candorville 2015-10-11 less

Caption: Great looking hair, made easy. Just dye. We now return to our program. How much time do I have to save the kitten, bring Timmy his inhaler, and defuse the nuclear bomb? You have a lot less time than you did before you started that sentence. We'll be back after these messages ... I'm really psyched Little Tyrant Pizza's bringing the flavor with its new pecan guacamole dipping sauce! A guy, a beach, a skateboard. A girl bouncing in slow motion. And these corn chips that have nothing to do with any of that. Buy them. Six other commercials that go on so long that you don't remember what show you're watching. Going back to Netflixing everything. And now back to our show ... What were we doing? Defusing something or other. I think.

138. Comic Strip Darrin Bell Rudy Park 2015-09-24 less
Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park
Viewable Date: 2015-09-24 Pub. Date: 2015-09-24
Image Number: 132891
Caption: What was dating like in your day, Mort? Very, very confusing. Women only talked about things they thought I was interested in. They never showed affection publicly because they thought it would embarrass me. For some reason, they made a point of never telling me any stories in which they had fun with other people. I always knew less about a lady at the end of a date than I did at the beginning. I don't get it. The you'd have fit right in.

Caption: Armstrong, why did you fire me? I need to know. Gross incompetence. You used the café's line of credit to buy and ad on the "Ask Sadie" show. Business plummeted by 100% the very next day. We were closed the very next day. I could hire you back, but it would mean a new contract and less pay. Very bad man. Your new contract requires you to provide me with health insurance.

Caption: Go to the History Channel. I will not comply. My analysis of your viewing patterns has determined you are just pretending to be interested in educational programming. There is a 98% probability you will lose interest in less than one minute and change the channel. There is a 2% chance you will fall asleep before then and forget to turn me off. You don't know me! Your webcam tells me your bookcase holds 147 books you have never even opened.
