Caption: Did you see that video where important world leaders are talking at the G-20 … and wondering why the heck Donald Trump's daughter is trying to be part of their conversation? It triggered me. It brought back that time in college where I found myself at the same party with Mother Teresa and Nelson Mandela. I interjected with a pretty enlightening Sanford and Son analogy, and things got awkward. Why is you still talkin'?

Caption: Our unofficial national motto used to be E Pluribus Unum. But our national motto should depict something we're good at. We're pretty good at pretending there are no lingering, systemic effects from slavery, Jim Crow, etc … We're good at not holding our leaders, our torturers, and our greedy white-collar crooks accountable. We're good at ignoring that we've basically become an undemocratic oligarchy. I still don't know what Reptant nihil hic is supposed to mean. Latin for move along, nothing to see here.

Caption: What ever happened with the Canardville refugees? What? I thought you were covering that story. I was. But at the last second I had to fly to Singapore to cover the summit between the President and North Korea's leader. You know they had a private meeting before the public one? Sometimes I can't believe this is my life, Susan. I was just the shy kid from the wrong side of the tracks. Now I'm the guy hiding in potted plants reporting on the secret meeting between two powerful leaders. Wait ... what? I never in a million years thought I'd be in Singapore.

Caption: I checked my news site's stats, and 98% of my readers these days are form the United States and Canada. It's almost as if the entire rest of the world has decided to stop reading news about the United States. What do you think I could do to get international readers to come back to my site? I mean, short of getting the western world to see us as their leader again. Have you tried showing some leg? C-Dog's Incredibly Bad Advice $2.

Caption: I can't shake the feeling that nothing is really real, doc. Dr. Noodle. I just got my doctorate in history. And I watch the news every day. And I've started feeling like I've wasted my whole life studying things that never happened. I mean, if everything I see happening right now is "fake," how am I supposed to trust history? How am I supposed to know that Mussolini or Napoleon or Genghis Khan or Robespierre or Caligula were ever really all that bad? Maybe all the journalists and scribes who chronicled their reigns were part of an age-old fake-news conspiracy dating all the way back to the days of Peisistratos? I see. When exactly did these doubts begin? Oh, about 546 B.C.

Caption: Lemont's in Russia … Where'd you take Rudy Park? He was on the boat with me. I was writing a story about him when someone … Oh, come, come … It's as if you've never seen stooge whisked away by unmarked black van to meet with rich Mafia-connected oligarch before. Anyway, you wanted to talk about interference with election. No really, but ... ok. Which one? 1953 overthrow of Iran's Mossadegh? 1954 overthrow of Guatemala's Arbenz? 1960 overthrow of Congolese Prime Minister Lumumba? 1964 overthrow of Brazil's Goulart? 1973 coup in Chile? I see what you're doing. Oh wait ... those were yours.

Caption: I don't care about anything I've heard lately, I'm still voting for Donald Trump on Tuesday. Yeah, maybe he teaches young men it's ok to objectify and assault women. And maybe he teaches young women that they're worthless. But we're not electing a "role model." And sure, maybe he's a tad racist. But we're not electing a "sensitivity trainer." Sigh. Newsweak. And yeah, maybe he hasn't paid income taxes ever since "Pocahontas" was in theaters, but we're not electing a "Taxpayer in Chief." And sure, maybe he's far better at alienating people than he is at winning them over. But we're not electing a "leader." ... What? Nothing.

Caption: This just in: According to scientists, it is not yet 2016. Hold on … Yes, ok … Sources are telling us that if this turns out to be true, it could have profound implications. Theoretically, it would mean that our leaders could spend this year actually accomplishing things. Wait, I'm being told ... Ok, sources claim it would also mean politicians don't have to demonize people on the other side of the aisle yet. Congress is already weighing in on this stunning development. They've issued a joint statement saying "We're not scientists, so we don't know one way or another if this crazy 'theory' is true." We at the nightly news should stress that the theory is so far unconfirmed. And frankly we're not sure we buy it either.

Caption: Nonviolence only work in certain circumstances, Big L. What do you mean? Worked in the civil rights struggle 'cause we was just demanding what the constitution already said we should have. Worked in South Africa 'cause the oppressed had leaders who didn't recognize the "other side's" right to exist. Ain't NONE a' that goin' on in Palestine, bruh. STOP HOPE-BLOCKING!!!

Caption: I had a dream last night. I dreamt that Israel's Prime Minister was Captain Kirk, of the starship Enterprise. And I dreamt Palestine's leader was also Captain Kirk, of a different Enterprise. Both ships were squaring off in orbit of Cestus III. The Metrons who lived on Cestus got annoyed and beamed both Kirks down to the planet to fight one-on-one. Who won? Not sure. There was lots of shirtlessness and karate chops, and then I woke up.

Caption: Morrie Turner. Father of diversity on the comics page. Soul Corner. In 1965, Morris "Morrie" Turner became the father of diversity on the comics page when he launched "Wee Pals" … The first syndicated strip featuring black, white, Latino and Asian characters. Morrie became an instrumental part of the civil rights movement after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. when over 100 papers added his message of racial harmony to their comics pages. Every Sunday in Wee Pals "Soul Corner," Morrie celebrated African-American historical figures that the history books usually ignored. Proving to little kids everywhere that now matter what we look like, we could grow up to be doctors, scientists, academicians, leaders ... and cartoonists. 1923 - 2014. Morrie Turner.

Caption: … And in other news, the President's golf match with Republican Congressional leaders ended in acrimony. One anonymous member filibustered the President's choice of club and ball. The President responded by issuing an executive order allowing the use of a putter. Republican leaders suggested the match could continue if Obamacare is repealed.

Caption: Your name says a lot about you. Dr. Noodle. Strong names make strong people. You never see a leader named "Meakly Wimpman." When I took a writing class, I learned a "MacGuffin" is an object the protagonist is willing to sacrifice everything for … … Even though there's never any explanation of why it's so valuable. Suddenly everything made sense ... My girlfriend's last name is MacGuffin. I see. You don't know why you're with her. I don't see why I should do the dishes if she won't even change her name.

Caption: Lamont interviews Syrian dictator Bashir Al-Assad for his blog. Hummusville Syrian Cuisine. Has it occurred to you that your people just aren't that into you? I mean, if you have to slaughter people in order to lead them, maybe they're trying to tell you it's over. But instead of moving on, you keep calling and texting and bombing. Doesn't that feel a little, pathetic? A little. Have you thought of looking for other countries to lead?

Caption: Hummusville Syrian Cuisine. Lamont interviews Syrian dictator Bashir Al-Assad for his blog. I guess my first question would be … You're proposing a new constitution aimed at broadening political participation. Will the protesters you've butchered in recent months be allowed to participate? I was under the impression I was here to discuss Snooki. We'll get to that.

Caption: In just a few months, we take America back. Run! The 5th Candorville Collection. We take it back from the tyrant who rams changes we don't want down our throats. We take it back from the tyrant who's done everything he can to destroy us … By making recess appointments and other such tyrannical things. He's no different from tyrants like Mussolini and Mao ... And in just a few months we'll vote the tyrant out on his rear! Furd. If you can vote someone out, he's not exactly a tyrant, is he? Run! The 5th Candorville Collection. I never said he was good at it. Wake me in 2013.

Caption: What do you see, Murph? Nothing new. Some of them are reading a newspaper. Some of them are online. Still, I don't think they know anything. What's to know, really? That we're still monitoring them, just as much as we did under Bush. That we've grown so large we've got hundreds of departments and agencies operating out of 1,300 facilities all over the country. That the number of Americans with "top secret" clearance is approaching 1 million. That we've become an unaccountable leech on the treasury that few leaders have the guts to defund, so instead they pretend all that money is being stolen by teachers, nurses, cops, janitors, firefighters and little kids in "head start." They don't seem all that curious. Like I said ... nothing new.
