Caption: Ever since the president announced he'd be pulling troops out of Syria, I've felt like some nefarious entity has put blinders on me. And I only see what they want me to see. Dr. Noodle. I spent all day channel-flipping between MSNBC, Fox and CNN … and reading all the usual newspapers ... and then it hit me ... I didn't read or hear a single voice saying we should not be militarily occupying other people's countries. It's as if the media's entire purpose is to pretend there is no dissenting opinion about our endless wars. Look what happened when Phil Donahue. He had the highest rated show on MSNBC. But as soon as he came out against invading Iraq, he disappeared! Anti-war voices in the media always disappear. That's a bit paran ... Hey ... where'd you ... ?

Caption: In 2002. I blogged about how the rush to war in Iraq was wrong. People replied why do you love Saddam? In 2013, I wrote that drone strikes were creating more terrorists because we keep oopsy-bombing weddings and such … People replied why do you love terrorists? The other day, I wrote that some toothpastes contain chemicals linked to cancer. Guess how people replied? I'd rather not.

Caption: What were you doing during the Iraq war, Randy? What are you talking about? We knew each other back then. That was like 10 or 13 years ago. You can't expect me to remember every little detail about something that happened so long ago. I regularly delete old memory files to make room for all the new data constantly coming my way via Facebook, tweets, Instagram, etc. I wish I didn't have to do that. I wish I could just expand my storage by sticking a flash drive in my nose. Why don't you try? Maybe it'll work.

Caption: Hi, this is Jeb. Jeb who? I'm officially announcing that I'm running for president. Jeb who? Let's not talk about the past. Mistakes were made. Nobody could've foreseen how Iraq would turn out. I'm my own man. I'm proud of my family. House of Java Cybercafe. Then why aren't you mentioning your last name? That's not important right now.

Caption: Nobody could've known, back in 2003, that invading Iraq would be a bad idea. What're you talking about? Millions of people knew it. Millions of us. Millions of us said the reasons the Bush administration gave for invading sounded like flimsy nonsense. Not having WMDs was Saddam's plot to embarrass us. Daily Nutjob. Obama wet bed as child, covered it up. Goodnight Grandpa. Millions of us said it would cause a lot of unnecessary death, totally wreck the balance of power, cost us money we couldn't afford, create new enemies, and be a huge unmitigated disaster. It was entirely possible to know. Millions of us knew. General: Iraq would be stable if we had occupied it for only 75 more years. Well, nobody knew the people who knew were right to know what they knew. You know? No. ISIS destroys ancient ruins, erect statue of founding father Dick Cheney.

Caption: Ask Sadie. Dear Sadie, Brian Williams said he wrongly remembered being shot down over Iraq, and reporters who were there are saying Bill O'Reilly's really exaggerated his experiences during the Falklands War. What do you think of that? THEY'RE LIARS!!! But it's nothing new. Even Edward R. Murrow lied about being in World War II. I have it on good authority he filed all his "battlefield" reports from a love nest in the Swiss Alps, while I - I mean, while an unknown buxom beauty massaged his toes.

Image Number: 112982
Caption: How many people in history do you think have died fighting over lines someone drew on a map? Occupiers have often forced people who are polar opposites to live in one artificial "country." Iraq … Ethiopia … Yugoslavia … The United States … But then if we only lived in countries made up of people who agree with us, Earth would have 7 billion countries. I disagree.

Caption: 4,489 American troops lost their lives in Iraq, and thousands were seriously wounded for life. Some accounts say half a million Iraqis died because of the war. But you know what? If it turns out they all sacrificed in vain, then that's the most powerful reminder there is that wars of choice do not end well. ... In which case they did NOT sacrifice in vain. I've forgotten what you just said.

Caption: We've invaded dozens of sovereign nations. Everywhere from Mexico to Cuba to Iraq. So it IS kinda strange that we're getting so bent out of shape about Russia doing the same thing. No it ain't. Anytime a thug wanna feel like he a good person, all he have to do is condemn some other thug. Wasn't that your thesis statement in kindergarten? It's still relevant.

Caption: The hot topic on today's SUNDAY MORNING POLITICAL SHOW: are military invasions justifiable? Here to discuss this: Senator John McCain. Thanks, Tom. Let's take last month for instance. Russia claimed Georgia's regime was brutal and dangerous, so they invaded. That was wrong. "IN THE 21ST CENTURY, NATIONS DON'T INVADE OTHER NATIONS." Our next guest: John McCain from a few moments earlier. Hello, Tom. When you've got a brutal and dangerous regime, invasions (Like what we did in Iraq) are perfectly ok. Tom, me from a moment ago is a reckless warmonger, who deserves our scorn. Bob, me from right now is hopefully naive.

Caption: The guys watch the Olympics. Look at Team China go! Well, this isn't really a surprise. China pretty much OWNS the "Committing or Supporting Genocide" event. That event used to be wide open. The U.S. was once a top contender, until teams like Turkey, Japan and Germany overtoo- WAIT! The U.S. is gaining! 1 million may be dead in Iraq! No, wait, we tried to stop that; but it still may warrant a bronze.

Caption: Meanwhile, at a plantation formerly known as Mount Misery… Ahh … Does Donald Rumsfeld enjoy an ice cold lemonade? One could say that. Is it unfair for folks to blame him for Iraq going wrong, just 'cause he was defense secretary? Maybe. Is it wrong for folks to blame him for all the so-called "torture" and false imprisonment he oversaw? Who knows? Is he glad he resigned? Absolutely. Is retirement boring him out of his cotton-picking mind? You bet. Will you PLEASE stop that?!

Caption: Lemont interviews a White House spokesman. So the president's been saying calm in Iraq's Anbar Province is proof the "surge" is working. That's right. The peace and quiet is a direct result of our actions. But a recent study says it's a direct result of ethnic cleansing by Sunnis. There aren't many more Shiites left there to kill. Don't quibble.
