Caption: I did some research, and I'm not sure George Bernard Shaw ever really said that quote I attributed to him. Yeh … You is a journalist, bruh. What do you mean, Clyde? You got it wrong on Tuesday, an' you just barely correctin' it now, on Friday when nobody payin' attention. Y'know ... Most people who aren't journalists never correct themselves at all. You sure that's accurate?

Caption: Dick Fink is such a jerk. He suggested I pitch Aristotle as a celebrity spokesman to Smarty-Smart Genius Brain Academy. Aristotle was wrong so often. If I'd taken Dick Rink's advice, I'd have looked like an ignoramus. Which I'm sure was Dick Fink's plan. So I pitched it my way. They loved it. it went viral. It's a really funny ad campaign about how the desire to correct Aristotle's goofy ideas was the foundation of modern science. Kind of like how your desire to sabotage Dick Fink's sabotage is the foundation of your best ad campaigns.

Caption: I'm doing well in my latest Surveymonkey poll. I run polls on all my social media accounts every time I make an important decision. Like when I decide which socks to wear … which movie to stream … which cereal to eat … Today I chose Lucky Charms. A solid choice. 49% of my followers felt that was proof of sound breakfast judgment. Wait ... Doesn't that mean 51% thought it wasn't? Taking a poll is science. Reporting the results is an art. A whopping 32% felt that my sticking with an un-PC breakfast choice showed I was bold enough to be president. You just ate what everyone wished they could eat.

Caption: I can't get anything done at all until I've had my morning coffees. I think I may have a problem. The first step is admitting you've got a problem, Susan. I'm proud of you. Now that you know, you can do something about it. You can probably go into rehab for this sort of thing, with all the other junkies and addicts. I just meant I think I'm out of coffee. Junkies isn't politically correct, but if Trump can be blunt, so can I.

Caption: Did you feel the earth shake last night, Rosencrantz? I did, Tyrone. But to be honest, I don't know if I really felt it or if I only now believe I felt it because your query planted the thought in my brain. Nonsense. You are you own person. You thoughts are your own. I could never substitute my will for your own. You're right. I stand corrected.

Caption: … so he tried to sneak out a note that said please help me, but I caught him. Excuse me … I couldn't help but overhear. A note can't say anything. As awkward as it may sound, the correct word isn't said, it's read. What would you like your tombstones to read? Perfect!

Caption: You know my favorite part of the president's State of the Union speech? Tell me. The lame SJW response by that beta Congressman Joe Kennedy III. It was equal parts virtue-signaling, multiculturalism, political correctness, and run-of-the-mill snowflakery. (Sigh) ... labeling-away speech and people we don't like is one of mankind's oldest pastimes. Spoken like a typical, deep-state, crybaby, anti-neoreacitonaryist.

Caption: … So then I told him "You've begged me to untie you no less than fifteen times already. I'm sick of it." Pardon me. Couldn't help but overhear. It's actually "fewer," not "less." "Fewer" is for things you count. "Less" is for things you don't count. How'd you like to have fewer days ahead of you? Yes, yes. Much better.

Caption: Merry Christmas … Yeah, I said it. Put that in your secularist pipe and smoke it. #LOL! #Youlose. Bet that really gets you upset, doesn't it? Not really. I love Christmas. I'm having a Christmas party tonight. My little boy's going to be an elf. I'm going to be Rudolph the Reindeer. Yeah, right. Like I believe that ... Would you like to come? Yes ... I mean, someone has to prove your "party" is a ruse!

Caption: All right, Sherry, let's meet up after and I'll help you bury it. Pardon me … couldn't help but overhear … It's unnecessary to add "up" after "meet." … And it's as strange as saying "let's dance up," or "let's sleep up." For that matter, what's with people who say "eat up"? Are you trying to catch a beat-down? "Down"? See how arbitrary it is?

12. Comic Strip Darrin Bell Candorville 2017-07-09 correct

Caption: It's hard to debunk the whole "fake news" thing when so-called "journalists" keep lying, or keep not correcting their "mistakes" take Joy-Ann Reid, for instance. Who she? She has a show on MSNBC. The other week, after that former Bernie-supporter shot at those congressmen ... somebody tweeted "too soon to mention Bernie owes his entire political career to the NRA? Particularly his support of assault rifles his R opponent decried?" "Journalist" Joy-Ann Reid retweeted that, adding "I hope we have the maturity as a country to confront facts like this at the same time we're thinking of victims and keeping level heads." But it wasn't a fact. Sanders opposed assault rifles. The NRA backed him in that one race to punish the Republican who'd just changed his position on assault rifles. A Vermont gun store owner said at the time, "At least [Bernie's] consistent" with his opposition to semi-automatic rifles. A simple Google search would've told her that, apparently Joy-Ann Reid doesn't even Joy-Ann read. This whole thing was so you could say that joke, wasn't it.

Caption: … So then I told the cry-baby "Stop all this continual begging and pleading, and take this like a man." Pardon me, I couldn't help overhearing. "Continual" means it happens regularly with obvious lapses in time. If you meant the begging was nonstop, the proper word is "continuous." What if the pleading only happened whenever there was a pausing the the sobbing? Oh. Well then ... you were right.

Caption: Lemont interviews Lemonts from alternate realities where elections turned out differently. Ok … let's walk through it one more time. On your earth, Robert F. Kennedy … was elected in 1968, ended poverty, brought the races together, and ended Vietnam. That's correct. And his brother Ted ... won in 1980, got us single payer healthcare, and took us to Mars, that's correct. And Donald Trump ... Still grabs women by the censored, that's correct.

Caption: What'd you think of my article about why our country's waged so many wars? I thought it had a few typos. You wrote "Philistine" instead of "Philippines." You wrote "Manicure Destiny" instead of "Manifest Destiny." And I'm pretty sure "First Barbershop War" is not a thing. I mean what do you think of my point? I think you should stop trying to write articles with your iPhone.

Caption: Have fun, Sherry! When you're done, take the chainsaw back here to me. Pardon me … couldn’t help but overhear … What you really meant to say was "bring," not "take." "Take" would only be appropriate if you were NOT going to be here when she got back. I will bring you great pain and suffering. Perfect! (This cartoon was originally published on 2014-04-26).

Caption: … So I taped his mouth and told him "You should of thought of that before you answered a Craigslist personals ad." Pardon me. Couldn't help but overhear. It's actually "should have," not "should of." It's a common error. Phonetically, the "apostrophe-v-e" contraction sounds like "of." I should've taken care of you years ago. Yes, yes. Much better.
