Caption: Court rooms. The judge imposed sentences today and he went easy in the first couple cases -- the lamp store robber was given a light sentence and the judge said the guy who packed up and skipped out on his rent was only guilty of a simple "moving" violation. On the other hand, the defendant convicted of illegal downloading had the e-book thrown at him. Was the judge tough on the politician who embezzled from the statehouse building fund? Yeah, he takes "capitol" crimes very seriously!

Caption: Subbing tonight for my regular co-anchor is our weatherman, Ernie. In our first story, police suspend the search for an escaped convict for the next day. In other words, the coast will be clear for the next 24 hours. There is a big political debate at town hall tonight. Expect hot winds all evening. A key witness at a murder trial couldn't recall much. It was a hazy day at the courthouse. And proud parents of a little leaguer watched their boy toss a no-hitter. The son shone brightly today! That's it! You're finished! Tomorrow I find a new substitute. Reign ending tonight.

Caption: Ernie's Greatest Hits. Volume One. F&E Records. Ernie, your "Rolling Stone" ad promoting your musical talents doesn't mention that none of your songs has ever approached the top 40. Right there -- "Sales of my songs are always off the charts!" Or that your live tour bombed so badly that you're hounded by creditors. "Huge following wherever I go!" And now no one will rent you an auditorium for a live show. "Live shows all S.R.O.!" And to make ends meet you run the soft drink concession at Madison Square Garden. Here it says "King of pop!" Ernie, you were just arrested for disturbing the peace when practicing in your garage! "Just booked for the next 3-6 months."

Caption: Hey, Frank, is that you? Where are you headed? I'm going to the entertainment page to sneak into the photo of that famous rock band. I'm pursuing my dream of becoming a rock star who is followed by a throng of adoring fans. Don't let him get away! Grab him! Hold on to him! Hey! It worked! Not realy. I went to the front page by mistake and I jumped into a photo of an escaped convict. In a way it worked. He's being followed by a throng. And he's got a record.
