Caption: We've got to make Sadie well. You really care that much? She's crucial for business. She stirs up trouble. People buy less coffee when she's not around. C'mon, really? They need to be awake enough to defend themselves. True. I just used to put ice in my pants.

Caption: This café isn't the same without Sadie. I thought she annoyed you. I just did a market analysis and it turns out that her aggravating temperment entertains our patrons. That old wind bag is good for business. Until she gets well, I'm testing replacements. Hey loser, you stink like my armpit! Yawn.

Viewable Date: 2019-02-15 Pub. Date: 2019-02-15
Image Number: 176309
Caption: Stop bothering the patrons. Me? You can't just go saying whatever is on your mind. You can't tell people that coffee makes you sick, or beef is being recalled or that they're bad dressers. It offends people. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend your over sensitive, somewhat feminine nature. That's what I'm talking about! What'd I say?

Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park
Viewable Date: 2019-01-13 Pub. Date: 2019-01-13
Image Number: 175597
Caption: One bottled water. Are you certain, fine sir? They're terrible for the environment. The bottles are petrol-based. Plus, you've got to ship them, which takes energy. And the nutritional value is dubious. You're much better off having a glass of old-fashioned tap water. I think I will. One cold glass from the tap. Coming up. That'll be $3. For tap water?! You're bettering yourself and the environment. Well played, savant.

Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park
Viewable Date: 2019-01-06 Pub. Date: 2019-01-06
Image Number: 175498
Caption: This year, I will become a better person. That's a low bar. I just can't sit by and watch corporate America outsource jobs. Are you serious? Big businesses are cutting pension funds and health care benefits. They're contributing to the greatest income gap between laborers and management that we've seen since the depression. This year, I vow to do a better job. Of? Joining corporate America in crushing the little guy. I just pray I have the strength to see this through. I vow to wilt like a lily.

7. Comic Strip Darrin Bell Rudy Park 2018-11-18 business
Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park
Viewable Date: 2018-11-18 Pub. Date: 2018-11-18
Image Number: 174746
Caption: Take pity on me. I can't give much this year. What is this heresy, son? I didn't get a raise this year, got furloughed this summer, am behind on my cable bill, can't afford proper dates. But it's the holidays. Think of the needy. Pierre in flat-panels has a new baby. Sandy, the mobile device manager, toils so hard for your business. And don't forget Apple. It's got to make its quarter. Computer Villa. Customer service. I shouldn't just think of myself. That's better. I'd like to upgrade all my devices, on credit. Even the most devoted sometimes need help overcoming their demons.

Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park
Viewable Date: 2018-10-27 Pub. Date: 2018-10-27
Image Number: 174638
Caption: It's brilliant. Customers can have the opportunity to learn the secrets of making espresso drinks. We'll charge them double if they want to make their own, and, get this … I'd rather not … triple if they want the privilege of cleaning up their own cups in the sink! I'm back! You're back.

9. Comic Strip Darrin Bell Rudy Park 2018-10-26 business
Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park
Viewable Date: 2018-10-26 Pub. Date: 2018-10-26
Image Number: 174637
Caption: … charge extra for people to wear shoes, create a tax on spilled drinks, double-charge for napkins. Boring, you're not a government entity, it's been done. I give up. I concede. I've got nothing. Maybe I don't belong as a businessman. Maybe I should just turn over the keys to the place to the customers ... They can make their own drinks and become experts and run their own coffee houses. Or I could charge them for making their own drinks and call this a training ground! Witness the return of a muse.

Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park
Viewable Date: 2018-10-25 Pub. Date: 2018-10-25
Image Number: 174636
Caption: I've got to fight through my creative malaise. I've come up with a list of ways to eek out more money from customers. Let's hear 'em. Charge for extra pads of butter. It's okay, but it's boring. Right. How about: Raise coffee prices; sell only day-old pastries; turn out the lights to save electricity ... Boring, boring, boring. Require people to make their own drinks? C'mon, you're not even trying.

Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park
Viewable Date: 2018-10-23 Pub. Date: 2018-10-23
Image Number: 174634
Caption: My cheapskate muse is dead. Great. I woke up yesterday and realized it's been months since I've had an idea for cheating the customers. Everything I'm coming up with is clichéd: Charging extra for toilet paper, 75 cents for a clean cup, one-for-the-price-or-two bagel specials. I can't take pride in ripping people off like that. One-for-the-price-of-two?

Viewable Date: 2018-10-22 Pub. Date: 2018-10-22
Image Number: 174633
Caption: I'm out of ideas. I'm tapped out. Of what? I can't think of any ways to squeeze more money out of customers. I've lost my cheapskate muse! Return to me, creative Goddess of Frugality! This is just beyond weird.

Image Number: 173393
Caption: Eureka! Hide the children and their wallets. I've figured out a solution to the problem of rising health-care insurance costs. Premiums are rising 25% per year but we're getting less coverage. Finally, with my new plan, businesses and consumers can fight back. Ready? As I'll ever be. We need to get 25% more illness and disease. Time to get your money's worth, people. Who wants strep throat? Only $5 a swab. It's come to this.

Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park
Viewable Date: 2018-08-05 Pub. Date: 2018-08-05
Image Number: 173107
Caption: Win-win. Whenever I hear that from you, I want to hide under the counter. New research shows the only proven way to prolong life is caloric restriction. Eat less, live longer. Introducing our new breakfast meal plan: The Fountain of Youth. You get half a muffin and half a glass of water. Sounds meager. Exactly. That's why we're charging $16. But a full muffin only costs $4. And it won't prolong your life. Can you even put a price on immortality? How much should we charge for an empty plate of air? Priceless.

Image Number: 172383
Caption: I've had four espresso shots and a red bull. Look out post office, here comes Sadie! Post office? You're fueling up so you have the strength to endure the long lines? Ha. I'm creating the lines. I get to the counter with a stack of complicated questions, then watch the people behind me go nuts with frustration! Bwah-ha-ha-ha!!! One of the best maniacal laughs in the business.

Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park
Viewable Date: 2018-06-12 Pub. Date: 2018-06-12
Image Number: 172241
Caption: Meanwhile at a café in neighboring Canardville … Have you gathered all the regulars and local animals two-by-two, minion? You were serious about that, boss? Totally unrelated topic: Let's say thousands of years ago, a big oil company was bribing a local shopkeeper to let them use his basement. Let's call him ... oh, I don't know ... Noah. Let's say big oil was using Noah's Cafe to conduct an illegal fracking operation. Let's say this type of mining is ... a tad risky ... and let's say big oil assured Noah that his cafe would be the one place in town that wouldn't cave in. Very very bad man.

Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park
Viewable Date: 2018-06-09 Pub. Date: 2018-06-09
Image Number: 172100
Caption: What's your contingency plan, Randy? My what? If a calamity of biblical proportions were to strike here in Canardville, would you flee across the bridge to Candorville? Or would you search in vain for a fallout-resistant bunker, before surrendering to the cruel inevitability of your demise? I ask just for the sake of discussion. No reason to panic. Totally unrelated: I just found out someone who's definitely not me is selling fallout bunkers at buy-this-now-if-you-want-to-live.com. Very bad man.

Image Number: 171808
Caption: Boss, when's the last time you took a vacation? 1984. March 3rd, to be exact. A Saturday. Instead of staying in to perfect my 25-year plan … I took four hours off to go to Chuck E. Cheese's with my fellow annoying prepubescent's. Something tells me you were wearing a tie. I thought being seen as a man of the people would help me franchise my lemonade stands.

Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park
Viewable Date: 2018-04-05 Pub. Date: 2018-04-05
Image Number: 170207
Caption: Remington is filing for bankruptcy. They're going away. No they're not. The gun manufacturer is just filing for chapter 11 bankruptcy. It'll let them stay in business and weasel out of paying their creditors at the same time. Lots of businesses do it, all the time. It's the American way. Maybe I'll declare chapter 11 so I can weasel out too. Don't be foolish, the American way is for corporate citizens, not citizen-citizens.

Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park

Image Number: 169902
Caption: I suppose you're wondering why I've summoned you here at 3 a.m., minion. I try not to wonder. After crunching the numbers, I've determined we'd increase profits by being open 24/7. We're in the suburbs everyone's asleep. Not true. By being closed at 3 a.m, we're missing out on the potentially lucrative Igor the Wino clientele. Go to the alley and give Igor a 1-for-the-price-of-2 coupon. Very bad man.
