Caption: Sir, what do you mean you restored the YouTube ad budget? I canceled that because our ads were running on white supremacist videos, and not on anti white-supremacist videos! We don't discriminate against minorities, Garcia. Not even against bigot-Americans. They're not a minority! That's it. I'm sending you to insensitivity training.

Caption: We cut our ad budget for YouTube because of all the hate for hate of hate content. You … what? Well, first they demonetized a few bigots and white supremacists so our ads wouldn't run on their filth. We thought that was fine. But then they also demonetizes people who made videos opposing those bigots. As if both sides were equally bad. I'm so tired of both-side-ism ... on both sides. Stop that.

Caption: I applied for a Home Depot credit card, Susan. What? Why? You rent. How much Home Depot stuff could you need? Well, when I picked little Lionel up from Toddlerville day care and asked him what he learned today … he said they learned how to barricade the door and hide form an active shooter. This country is sick. Toddlerville told me they didn't have the budget for bulletproof doors, so I figured I'd build them some.

Caption: Donald Trump is cutting all funding for NPR, the National Endowment for the Arts, PBS, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, and more. What? They goin' after Big Bird? What Big Bird do to him? I didn't know Trump was mad at 'im. I ain't seen no tweet about it or nothin'. Big Bird'll be fine. HBO owns Big Bird now. Say what? I don't know if I could watch Big Bird on HBO. Last thing I need to see is Big Bird naked, or Big Bird choppin' off people arms an' whatnot. That's not the point. The point is, he's stripping funding from the Smithsonian and other icons of our culture, but buying more bombs we don't need. I don't need to see Big Bird slingin' smack for the mafia. It's not always about Big Bird.

Caption: What do you mean you "had no choice"? I checked my bank account this morning. Newspapers, coffee, lunch, bus fare, diapers, day care, movie tickets, clothes … It all adds up. It's like every day I leave the building, $50 vanishes from my wallet. Locking yourself on the roof all day is not the answer. I'm cold, hungry and my son's kinda stinky.

Caption: Hello, creditor, you've reached the home of Lemont Brown. Paying 30% interest on the bus ticket you helped me buy 20 years ago is more important to me than survival. So I can't come to the phone right now, because I'm busy bundling all my cash to send to you instead of using it to feed my child, pay my rent and keep my lights on. Please leave a message and I'll get back to you when I'm done making money appear out of thin air. BEEP.

Caption: Women don’t need to earn the same thing men earn. You know why that be? 'Cause even when they have a job, they make us pay for erething. We gotta pay for dinner, we gotta pay they phone bill, we gotta buy they movie tickets. Maybe they do earn 77 cents less than men, but at least 33 cents of every dollar we earn go to them. You don't have a job, Clyde.

Caption: I'm sick of liberals saying we should raise taxes to help pay off the national debt. If the government were a household that spent more than it took in, the parents would do the ONLY THING they could and cut back on unnecessary expenses. Um … They could also look for higher-paying jobs that brought in more revenue. What'd you say? I was on the phone canceling my electricity and my phone. The Starbucks at the End of the World. Caption: My iPhone woke me up with an alert this morning, Susan. It said my bank account was overdrawn. I just don’t get it. I'm pretty good with my money. So I went to the café, got my usual mocha, and sat down to try and figure out what's gone wrong. Did you know they sell bacon-wrapped hot dogs? ... Anyway, I went to the movies to clear my head. But the movie was awful. So I went home, turned on my TV, and tried to find something good on cable. There wasn't even anything good on HBO. So I tried Netflix and Hulu+. That's when it dawned on me. ... That you really need to make a budget? Yeah. So I bought a budgeting app. ... And a Star Trek app.

I've never had to use unemployment insurance in my life and I never will. Never! Daddy, I'm hungwee. Hello, you've reached the state unemployment office.

Caption: When the President refused to exted the Bush tax cuts, he explained why and that made sense to me. Dr. Noodle. But then when he extend them, I was confused. When the President insisted on a public option for health care, he explained why and that made sense to me. But then he abandoned the public option. I was confused. When the President insisted that the very rich, not just the poor, have to sacrifice to help balance the budget, that made sense to me. But then he signed a bill that didn't ask the very rich to pay even a single cent more in taxes. And you're confused. Not anymore. I miss being confused.

Caption: I'm tired of people saying that Republicans are being heartless when they try to strip labor unions of the right to collectively bargain. States are facing huge budget deficits caused by their need to provide expensive vital services, coupled with billions of dollars of tax giveaways to corporations and low property taxes. Sure, labor unions seem to agree that their members have to take pay cuts and contribute more to their retirement and health-care plans, but ... they don't want to give up their right to demand safe working conditions and whatnot. Do you know how expensive it is to provide safe working conditions? Less expensive than treating cancer? A little asbestos never hurt anyone.

Caption: The Candorville Chronicle. We're losing readers to the internet and TV. It's just dang hard for print to compete with other media. People want images, images, images. Hold on a sec… …Jane, we need to save some money. Drop four or five comic strips. Anyway, if only there were some way we could compete with the other media...

Caption: If you really Lemont from the future, tell me somethin' important. All right. Democrats wimp out, we don't get universal health care … … So a million or so Americans will die prematurely over the next 60 years. One of 'em, ironically, was close to discovering the cure for death. I said important, @#$%! (Sigh) ... In 2015, there'll be a big budget "Gilligan's Island" movie starring Wesley Snipes and Tom Hanks. Now we talkin'. I was hoping my memories of you were distorted by the senility. Will Kanye ever stop bein' a punk-@#$?

Caption: So I woke up from a 26-year coma and learned my Republican Party had been replaced by a big-spending, war-mongering, bill-of-rights-shredding leviathan. I started drinking to dull the pain. But I couldn't stop. The bottle took control. When it came time to vote, I hit bottom. You blacked out? I voted Democrat.
