Caption: There's some grumbling going on down there. The muscle fibers are complaining about getting stuck with all the heavy lifting. LDL is tired of getting called "bad" cholesterol, and the blood cells don't like all the traveling they have to do in their job. A little speck is trying to convince the brain these bad attitudes are all in the head. A little speck? Yeah, a proton is telling the brain he can take charge of the situation with the power of positive thinking!

Caption: It's election time again down there! As usual, the antibodies are single-issue voters, only concerned about defense. The simple sugars and complex carbohydrates are debating energy policy. I bet the sugars have a quick-fix plan and the carbohydrates focus on the long-term. Stomach and brain calls are arguing about the economy. The stomach always wins the arguments with the brain. It has a plan for expansion! And the hormones are running a third-party candidate this year --- They say he's a real agent of change!

Caption: Just look at all those bio-lobbyists down there! The brain cells are lobbying hard. They want more education funding, I bet! The bluebloods are pushing tax cuts for the rich… and the nerve fibers are part of the communications lobby! The carbohydrates and sugar molecules are working on energy subsidies, as usual. What about the white blood cells? Are they working for anybody? The defense industry, of course!

Caption: Amoebas Rule. What a financial scandal! This whole system is a mess! The oxygen and helium molecules are inflating profits, every cell nucleus is doing insider trading, the auditing staph is destroying evidence and the endorphins will say anything to make the stockholder feel euphoric. That's terrible! Who's responsible for all this? There's plenty of blame to go around ... The DNA provided the blueprint for the operation, the nerves told everybody what to do, and the eyes just looked the other way.

Caption: To Kidney. To Spleen. Social getherings down here are fascinating. The blue bloods are having a gene pool party -- the endorphins are having a great time as usual, and of course, the Y chromosome is off in the den watching a ball game on TV while the fat cells wipe out the chips and dips. And that little nucleus is floating around with a lampshade on his head. Yeah, he always has to be the center of everything. But what's this? The amoeba is getting his hat and coat already? He must have decided to split early.

Caption: The Cerebrum...is involved with the more complex functions of the human brain (and) although in many ways the right and left hemispheres are mirror images of one another, there are important function distinctions. In most people, for example, the areas that control speech are located in the left hemisphere, while areas that govern spatial perceptoins reside in the right hemisphere. Look, Ernie...The Encyclopedia says the right side of your brain determines how sharp you are at spatial relationships. Really?! Can you show me which side that is?
