Caption: I think everything went wrong when people decided not to care about the Iran-Contra thing. That's when we decided presidents could do whatever they want and get away with it. Our Democracy has been circling the drain of authoritarianism for the last 32 years. What we're witnessing now is just the big flush. It's a new metaphor I'm trying out. You should keep working on that.

Caption: Dick, can you get met the "Ask Shadie Show" metrics and then get Sadie Cohen on the phone? Can't ma'am. This is America. Don't use the metric system. Doesn't pay to appear un-American in there perilous times. Get to work, Dick. You'll thank me when "they" don't come for you.

Caption: Do you know why mankind is so susceptible to authoritarians, Rosencrantz? It's because our brains are wired to accept lies. Our conscious brain can eventually spot a lie. But for it to spot it, our unconscious brain first has to entertain it. And just as when you entertain a guest, there's a chance the guest will overstay his welcome, put up photos of his loved ones, and before you know it, he's moved in and you can't get rid of him. I'll say it one last time: I want my side of the sidewalk crack back, Tyrone. I don't know what you mean, I've always been on this side.

Caption: The fad herald cometh. I've been meaning to ask him it's too late to grow a lumberjack beard. Hear ye, hear ye. The following is OUT: The last vestiges of civility in politics. The following are now IN: Name-calling, tantrum-throwing, and comparing … um ... hand sizes during debates. Also IN: Bullying, mocking, threatening, kicking, beating, stomping and other assorted hallmarks of authoritarian movements. Also in: Taking selfies while getting bullied, mocked, threatened, kicked, beaten or stomped, and uploading then to Youtube. Uploading them to Facebook is out. I disagree with that. Stop him!!! I'd like to punch him in the face.
