Caption: How come all your social media say you at the National Writers Society annual convention right now? You was there last week. You here now, bruh. Isn't it obvious, Clyde? I don't want burglars to know when I'm not in town. That's just paranoid, Big L. Since when is it paranoid to always time-shift my life by one week? There wasn't -- I mean, there prolly wasn't nothin' in your apartment worth stealin' no way.

Caption: We raised your APR because one of your credit cards maxed out. I know. It's your card, and it's only maxed out because you lowered my credit limit to exactly what I owe you. Sir, if you keep a high balance on your card, you appear to be a credit risk and so we have to raise your APR. Did you listen to what I said?! That depends. I always confuse the words "listen" and "hear." Which one means purposely paying attention to noise for the purpose of comprehending it? "Listen." Oh. Then I hear you, sir.

Caption: Where did the kwithmath twee come fwum? Well that's an interesting story. It all started in A.D. 324 with Roman Emperor Justinian. Christian Romans worshiped Jesus, but pagan Romans worshiped the sun. Emperors Hadrian and Aurelian filled Rome with spectacular sun temples. There were annual festivals - incorporating a tree - celebrating the birth of the sun, which was said to be on December 25th. When Christianity supplanted paganism in Justinian's day ... ... it co-opted the pagan date of December 25, and the pagan use of the tree. Huh? The Christmas tree came from the forest. Oh.

Caption: You've reached Slummlerd Apartments. How may we hinder you? I'm Lemont Brown, apartment 38. Last week you raised my rent another $40. Today, I got a notice you're charging me a $195 "rental assessment fee." The city charges us an annual fee to assess how much we're allowed to raise your rent. They let us pass the assessment fee on to you. I"m already paying you $1,350! $1,390 this month, if you include the assessment fee. So instead of helping us out in these tough times, you're nickel-and-diming tenants who already pay you thousands per month. Do you know how insulting that is? Are you asking me to assess the situation? NO! NEVER MIND.

She knew the taste of garlic twisty bread. "…But she'd never read the WHOLE prophecy. Hollywood didn't bombard us with a million lame reality shows. Thousands of Americans did not die an a natural disaster due to an inadequate government response. Clyde only stole my computer twice. I'd say I got more than I'd expected for Christmas. It helps to set the bar low.
