Caption: You've got to get on board with celebrity endorsements. People love your voice. They trust it. Bite me. Okay, then we'll find someone else to dupe your pathetic audience, sell them stuff they don't need and make them feel deep regret. Hold on. You never mentioned the spiritual benefits. I didn't want to play this card. To think of the shame I could inflict.

Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park
Viewable Date: 2018-12-27 Pub. Date: 2018-12-27
Image Number: 175594
Caption: You'll note that we phrase your celebrity endorsements very carefully, and you should not deviate from script. Like when you advertise for Milt Johnson & Sons, your favorite name in outer space real estate. Be careful to say it's the only name you'd consider when acquiring property rights on a distant or as-of-yet undiscovered plant but didn't mention that such rights may not exist. It insults a listener's intelligence. I want a house on Pandora. @#$%

Caption: We won't do celebrity endorsements. Sure you will. Everyone does. Glenn Beck, Rachel Maddow, Limbaugh, everyone. It doesn't matter whether you actually believe in the amazing Gold Juicer. The what? It just matters that you say it can turn any ordinary piece of fruit into pure gold. Awesome! Thanks, pardner. Kid's gonna make us big grapefruit.

Caption: Sadie and Rudy, it's time to capitalize on the popularity of your tag team radio hour. Two words: Celebrity sponsorships. You two are going to do personal, on-air endorsements of wonderful new products. First up: The Amazing Hydrotowel. The what? Simultaneously dries and hydrates. Cools and warms. Angers and infuriates.

Caption: I got something - on Facebook! You did? From a long lost, twin sister? Almost as awesome! It's a pop-up ad for high-fiber breakfast bars. You're being facetious. Technology stinks! Maybe you're angry because you need fiber.

Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park

Caption: I'm sorry, we're all out of mocha. Want something else? Yes, I want you to run to Starbucks and get me a mocha. I'm … what? Sorry, I can't do that. You have to. Or I'll sue. I saw your menu from the sidewalk. I'm not following. If your menu is viewable from the sidewalk, it's considered advertising. If you advertise a product but you don't have it in stock and you don't cross it out, that's false advertising. And that's a crime. So what's it going to be? Are you going to run down to Starbucks or do you want me to bring the wrath of the entire judicial system down upon you? I'm not sure any of that is true. But I could use the fresh air. While you're there, would you be a poodle and get me a cheese danish?

Caption: Boss, remember when you said you'd consider giving me a raise if I were to show initiative? No. I used the café's line of credit to buy ads on a national broadcast. You did what? If the ad increases business, do I get a raise? Maybe. What channel's it on? Fox? NBC? Today's "Ask Sadie Radio Show" is brought to you by the worst excuse for a cafe in America.

Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park

Image Number: 162865
Caption: I was eating my muffin and drinking my latte when I noticed the tv on your wall is only 1080p resolution. That's right. So you admit it! Your tv is not an 8k UHD television! And yet your sign outside says "good eats and state of the art tech inside." That's false advertising. I might be willing to forgo the class action lawsuit and settle out of court. I'd settle for a 1080p tv. Get out.

Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park
Viewable Date: 2017-06-04 Pub. Date: 2017-06-04
Image Number: 158198
Caption: I've never been in here before. What's your best drink? That'd be the Gambler's Mocha. Sounds interesting. What's in it? Oh … a little of this, a little of that. For all you know, it's a smooth blend of hand-mixed Amedei Porcelana dark chocolate from Tuscany ... and Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee beans, hand-picked by sherpas 5,000 feet above sea level precisely at sunset ... topped with a light whip of frozen Arctic sea foam, and black diamond cream from Dubai ... for all you know ... Or it could be day-old sludge made with tap water from Flint? I thought you said you'd never been here before. Siri, where's the nearest Starbucks?

Caption: Boss … Armstrong … I created a "Trump Generator." You input questions, and it outputs random nouns and adverbs strung together with words like "fantastic." I put it online a few days ago, and already it's getting 500,000 visitors per day. I guess what I'm asking is, why do all Trump's answers all of a sudden end with "visit House of Java Cafe, it's tremendous. It's run by a very smart man named Armstrong." I have no idea what you're talking about. By the way, did you know Russian hackers are surprisingly cheap on Craigslist? Very bad man!!!

Caption: I'd like two peppermint apple ginseng kale scones for the price of one plain scone. I saw your "two for the price of one special" sign out front. That's two of the same thing for the price of one. You didn't specify that. Get ou … wait … ok … you got me.

Caption: I heard you were giving out free red-white-and-blue cookies for Election Day. That was last week. I know. But you didn't specify it was for the presidential election. They're voting today for hall monitor at Octavia Butler Elementary School in Pasadena. Technically, that means it's "Election Day." Cookie me now, cookie boy, or I sue for false advertising. Get out.

Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park
Viewable Date: 2016-09-15 Pub. Date: 2016-09-15
Image Number: 148488
Caption: I'm suing you for false advertising. I sent a sample of your Italian soda to my cousin Beppe in Naples. He said there's nothing "Italian" about it. I'll settle out of court for an Italian soda. No deal.

Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park
Viewable Date: 2016-09-05 Pub. Date: 2016-09-05
Image Number: 148226
Caption: Boss, the customers can hear you cackling maniacally. I've topped myself, minion. It's not enough to run ads that tout our own excellence; we have to simultaneously tear down the competition. Behold: My masterpiece. "100 percent of those who drink coffee King's coffee will die." Best part is it's technically true.

Viewable Date: 2016-07-20 Pub. Date: 2016-07-20
Image Number: 146153
Caption: I saw your "free wi-fi" sign. Yes, it's free for customers. False advertising! If I have to buy something, it's not free! Ok. The password is "buysomethingorgetout." Is that upper-case or lower?

18. Comic Strip Darrin Bell Rudy Park 2016-06-10 advertising
Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park
Viewable Date: 2016-06-10 Pub. Date: 2016-06-10
Image Number: 144241
Caption: Hello, nemesis. Give me one of everything. And bill it to you. Why would I do that? Because there's a sign on the wall that reads "The customer is always right." If you don't do as I say, that's false advertising. If you don't pay for what you order, you're not technically a "customer." Stalemate! Not technically.

Comic/Cartoon: Rudy Park
Viewable Date: 2016-02-17 Pub. Date: 2016-02-17
Image Number: 139254
Caption: You're a strong, virile stallion of a man, Randy. Has anyone ever told you that? Many times. How would you like to be the "after" image in my new ad touting the health benefits of our new nonfat kale macchiato. Let me guess: You'd also like an old picture of me where I was weak and puny, so you can claim that's the "before" picture. Don't worry, I've got that part covered. Something about you looked different today, Rudy. Would you like fries with that observation?
