Caption: I see you turned your clock ahead. Yup. Lost an hour. This says an entomologist in New Zealand first proposed daylight saving time in 1895 so he could have more daytime to collect specimens. Entomologist? What's that? Someone who studies insects. So zillions of people turn their clocks because some kiwi bug-nut invented daylight savings time? Did you notice - I say "daylight saving time," using "saving" as an adjective, like "cost-saving measure." You say "savings," as in "savings account." Interesting, huh? Clearly we're not missing the hour.

I don't think they should be allowed to add new words to the dictionary until we start using all the ones that are already there. Darn right. It's very profligate of them!
